Samsung has started rolling out a new software update for the Galaxy A36, and the package is focused entirely on security. The update brings the May 2026 security patch, closing 36 security vulnerabilities that were present in the previous firmware.
The timing matters because the Galaxy A36 had already received the stable One UI 8.5 update before this rollout began. That earlier release still carried the April 2026 security patch, so the latest package now adds a more current layer of protection for users who are already on Samsung’s newer interface.

This new release is not a feature-packed update. Instead, it acts as a follow-up to One UI 8.5 and updates the device’s security foundation without changing the interface or adding major new functions.
That approach is common for Samsung devices. Large software releases often arrive with security patches that are already one month behind, and a later update then brings the newer protection level.
