Samsung Prioritizes Endurance in Fold8, While Pixel 11 and Honor Push New Directions

The next wave of Android hardware is taking three very different directions at once. One company is pushing foldables toward better endurance, another is signaling a softer new color identity, and a third is widening access to its latest foldable beyond its home market.

Samsung appears to be prioritizing battery growth without changing the Fold8’s overall character.
The Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra is tipped to arrive at the end of July with a body that still keeps the same broad profile. Even so, the leak points to a 5,000mAh battery, up from the 4,400mAh unit in the Galaxy Z Fold7.

What makes that notable is the reported weight. The device is said to stay at 215 grams, matching the Fold7 despite the larger battery.

Samsung is also said to remain with Lithium Polymer instead of moving to silicon-carbon, a route some rivals have taken. Charging at 45W is also mentioned as part of the package.

Honor is already taking the Magic V6 beyond its initial market push.
Pre-orders have started in Malaysia and Singapore, while a global launch is expected to continue through June, including Europe and the Middle East. That expansion gives the foldable a much wider stage at a time when thinness is becoming one of the main selling points in the category.

The Magic V6 is described as one of the thinnest foldables available right now. Early impressions suggest that status may hold through 2026, and the device also seems balanced when unfolded even with its triple-camera module placed on the right side.

Its display crease is also said to be shallower than the one on the Magic V5. That should make the inner screen feel less like it dips into a deep valley.

Google’s Pixel 11 family is leaning toward a more visible color refresh.
Wallpaper leaks tied to the lineup point to new shades built around softer green, pink, and purple tones. The Pixel 11 series is expected to launch in August.

Earlier leaks for the standard Pixel 11 already pointed to black, green, pink, and purple options, which fit with the wallpaper clues. For the Pixel 11 Pro and Pro XL, the rumored palette includes black, green, a color close to Moonstone, and a new beige option.

These three developments show how different the current Android race has become. Samsung is focusing on endurance and weight control, Google is shaping a new visual identity through color, and Honor is using international rollout momentum to strengthen its foldable presence.

Other Android names are also starting to surface alongside these larger moves. Motorola has already introduced the Edge 2026 with a 6.3-inch display and a 160-gram weight, while the OnePlus 16 is entering rumor territory with an expected release window in September. Google has also brought Gemini Go to Android Go as the successor to Assistant Go, with support for low-storage devices and Android Go phones with 2GB of RAM or more through the Google Search app.
