Samsung’s next smartwatch cycle is starting to take shape, and the clearest signal so far is not about a new feature. It is about timing, because Galaxy Watch 9 and Watch Ultra 2 have now passed 3C certification in China.
The listing points to model numbers SM-L3550 and SM-L7150, which are believed to correspond to the two upcoming wearables for the Chinese market. That makes the launch path look much more concrete, even though the certification details also reveal one disappointing holdover: charging remains stuck at 10W.
Charging does not appear to be the upgrade users were waiting for
The 3C database shows that both watches support 10W charging with a 5V/2A configuration. In practical terms, that means Samsung has not moved beyond the charging speed used by the previous generation.
For users who were hoping for a more noticeable hardware boost, this is the most telling detail in the filing. The new models may be nearing launch, but the charging side still looks conservative.
Certification usually means a launch is getting closer
Device certification often comes late in the preparation process, and that is true here as well. Once a product appears in a regulatory database, it usually signals that the official announcement is not far away.
That is why the appearance of Galaxy Watch 9 and Watch Ultra 2 in 3C matters beyond the model numbers themselves. It suggests Samsung has already crossed one of the important checkpoints before unveiling the new smartwatches.
There is still no official word on design, size, or additional features from the certification listing. For now, the strongest confirmed information remains limited to the model identifiers and charging specs.
A July event is now looking more believable
The current timeline circulating around the devices points to a possible launch on 22 July during an event in 2026. After the 3C appearance, that schedule looks more plausible than before.
Samsung is reportedly preparing at least two smartwatch models for the lineup: Galaxy Watch 9 and Watch Ultra 2. There is also discussion that Galaxy Watch 9 Classic could join Samsung’s 2026 smartwatch family.
If the Classic model does arrive, it would stand out because Samsung usually releases a Galaxy Watch Classic version every two years. Even so, only the two main models have shown up in the 3C database so far.
Samsung’s wearable push may be broader than just watches
The smartwatch filings are part of a larger wave of Samsung devices moving through certification channels. Galaxy A27 has also entered the pipeline, giving the company another product preparing for release.
That mid-range phone surfaced in Singapore’s IMDA database under model number SM-A276B/DS. Its marketing name had already been confirmed by Thailand’s NBTC platform as Galaxy A27, which further strengthens the sense that the device is on the way.
The phone is expected to sit alongside Galaxy A37 and A57 in Samsung’s mid-range lineup. It has also appeared in leaked renders, which pointed to four color options: Mint, Black, Blue, and Pink.
Mid-year could become a busy period for Samsung
Galaxy A27 is tipped to debut in July or August 2026, placing it near the same window associated with the new wearables. If those schedules hold, the middle of the year could become a packed period for Samsung product announcements.
That would give the company a chance to refresh both premium smartwatch offerings and its mid-range phone range at roughly the same time. For now, however, the clearest confirmed takeaway is simple: Galaxy Watch 9 and Watch Ultra 2 are advancing toward release, but the 10W charging story has not changed.
