Apple’s next premium iPhone could carry a noticeably higher price as component costs rise. The iPhone 18 Pro is rumored to start between US$1,299 and US$1,399, while Indonesian estimates range from Rp21.600.000 to Rp25.200.000.
The expected price increase is linked to the cost of 2nm chip production and higher global RAM contract prices. In return, the device is expected to focus on on-device AI processing, stronger performance, and a redesigned camera system.
Premium Models Could Launch First
Apple is reportedly considering a two-wave launch strategy for the iPhone 18 family. Its premium devices may arrive in September 2026, while the standard iPhone 18 and iPhone 18e could follow in March or April 2027.
Bloomberg technology journalist Mark Gurman has indicated that the first wave may include the iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max, and the foldable iPhone Ultra Fold. The split schedule is reportedly connected to efforts to maintain production efficiency for Apple’s new hardware lineup.
An Apple Keynote is expected on September 8 or 9, 2026. Global sales of the premium models are projected to begin in mid to late September 2026.

A20 Pro Could Bring 2nm Efficiency
The most significant internal upgrade is expected to be the Apple A20 Pro chip, reportedly built by TSMC on a 2nm process. It is said to offer around 15 percent faster performance while reducing power consumption by up to 30 percent.
That efficiency could be particularly important for Apple Intelligence features processed directly on the phone. The iPhone 18 Pro is also rumored to have at least 12GB of RAM for more immediate AI processing.
Apple may also reduce the size of the Dynamic Island on a 6.3-inch LTPO OLED display. The change could provide more usable screen space without substantially altering the iPhone’s established design language.
Camera Rumor Points to Mechanical Aperture
The 48MP main camera is rumored to adopt a variable-aperture system with a mechanically adjustable lens opening. The technology is intended to create a more natural background blur similar to the effect produced by DSLR cameras.
If introduced, the feature could become one of the clearest hardware distinctions from the previous generation. The report also points to possible Dark Cherry, light blue, and dark gray color options, based on rumors shared through Weibo.
None of the specifications, pricing, colors, or launch plans has been officially announced by Apple. The reported changes therefore remain subject to revision before the anticipated release window.
