Huawei has added another entry-level option to its global lineup with the Nova Y74, and the phone’s biggest selling point is hard to miss: a 6,620mAh battery. That large cell is paired with 40W fast charging, a combination that gives the device a clear focus on endurance and convenience.
The Nova Y74 is positioned as the successor to the Nova Y73, with Huawei steering the device toward users who want a dependable daily phone without giving up basic display comfort. The overall package suggests a handset built for long use, simple operation, and practical features rather than premium ambitions.
A display tuned for everyday use
The phone comes with a 6.67-inch LCD panel that uses HD+ resolution and a 90Hz refresh rate. Huawei appears to be aiming for smoother scrolling and a more fluid feel during routine tasks such as browsing, social media, and video playback.
The screen also reaches up to 850 nits of brightness. That level should help visibility when the phone is used outdoors or under direct sunlight, which adds to its appeal as a straightforward daily driver.
Battery life is the main attraction

Camera setup stays focused on daily needs
Huawei equips the Nova Y74 with a 50MP main rear camera housed in a square module. On the front, there is an 8MP selfie camera placed at the top of the display.
