Realme has expanded its P4 lineup with the launch of the Realme P4R, a budget-friendly phone built around endurance. The headline feature is an 8,000mAh battery, making it the second-largest battery in the series after the Realme P4 Power’s 10,001mAh cell.
That battery size is not just for show. Realme says the P4R can last up to 12 hours of gaming, up to 61 hours of calls, or up to 169 hours of music playback on a single charge.
The company also pairs the large battery with 45W fast charging and PPS support, which helps keep everyday charging practical despite the higher-capacity cell. The battery itself uses Si/C chemistry, a choice that reinforces the phone’s focus on long runtime.
Closer to the P4 Lite, but with useful upgrades
Within the P4 family, the P4R sits close to the P4 Lite in terms of core hardware. Both phones use a 6.8-inch IPS LCD panel with a 144Hz refresh rate and 720p+ resolution.
The chipset is also the same, with Dimensity 6300 powering the device. Realme offers 4GB of RAM as the base configuration, while 6GB is also available for users who want a little more headroom.
Where the P4R pulls ahead is in the details that matter for everyday use. It comes with 128GB or 256GB of internal storage and uses UFS 2.2, while the Lite model relies on eMMC storage instead.
A microSD slot is still included, giving users extra flexibility for photos, videos, and other files without having to choose the top storage variant immediately.
Cameras, durability, and a small visual twist
The camera setup is another clear step up. Realme equips the P4R with a 50MP main camera and an 8MP front camera, compared with the P4 Lite’s 13MP rear camera and 5MP selfie camera.
The phone also improves on durability. It carries an IP65 rating, up from IP64 on the P4 Lite, and Realme says it has passed a 1.8-meter drop test.
On the back, the P4R adds an RGB notification light, giving the handset a more distinctive look than some of its siblings in the same series.
Pricing and availability in India
Realme has opened pre-orders for the P4R in India through Realme India and Flipkart. Open sales are scheduled to begin on June 17.
The phone is offered in three colors: Silver Glare, Lavender Glare, and Titanium Glare. Pricing is set at ₹19,000 for the 4/128GB model, ₹21,000 for the 6/128GB version, and ₹23,000 for the 6/256GB option.
| Variant | Price |
|---|---|
| 4/128GB | ₹19,000 |
| 6/128GB | ₹21,000 |
| 6/256GB | ₹23,000 |
For comparison, the Realme P4 Lite launched at ₹13,000 for the 4/64GB version and ₹14,000 for the 4/128GB model. The higher price of the P4R reflects its larger battery, improved cameras, faster storage, and stronger durability package.
Realme is positioning the P4R as a practical option for users who want long battery life without moving into a much higher price bracket. In a market full of slim designs and performance-first phones, this model leans into endurance and utility with a more focused set of upgrades.
