Galaxy A37 5G Pushes Night Video Farther, and Samsung Makes the Case for Better Low-Light Content

Samsung Electronics Indonesia is positioning the Galaxy A37 5G for a very specific behavior shift: the surge in short-form video creation and viewing across Indonesia. The device is built to help users record and edit content more easily, especially when scenes fall into low light.

That focus matters because Samsung says Indonesia is among the world’s highest short-video markets, with people spending an average of more than 4.9 days per week watching short videos. In that environment, camera performance, editing tools, and battery life are no longer side features; they are central to how a phone is used.

Low light remains the hardest test

Video shot at night or in dim settings is still a common pain point for many users. Annisa Maulina, MX Product Marketing Senior Manager at Samsung Electronics Indonesia, said video has become the main format for young users to capture everyday experiences, but low light often makes footage dark, noisy, or lacking detail.

To address that issue, the Galaxy A37 5G uses Enhanced ISP and a Big Pixel 1.0μm sensor. Samsung says the combination is designed to capture more light, which should make night footage look brighter and more natural.

The company also encourages users to work with the lighting already available around them, including street lamps, vehicle lights, and neon signs. Those elements can add atmosphere to a scene while still preserving the story being told.

Built for shooting and editing in one flow

Samsung brought in Photographer Professional and Content Creator Akbar Nugroho to show how the phone can support night video production. He said storytelling remains the most important part of content, but strong visuals help the message reach the audience more effectively.

Akbar also pointed to the phone’s flexibility when choosing shooting angles. According to him, that kind of room to explore helps align the final result with the needs of the content.

Samsung recommends using a mix of wide shot, medium shot, and close-up shot to make videos feel more dynamic. The company says that approach also gives creators more options when they move into the editing stage.

The display is part of that workflow as well. The Galaxy A37 5G comes with a Super AMOLED FHD+ screen and a 120Hz refresh rate, which helps users review lighting details and image composition more clearly while editing.

Gallery tools help keep results consistent

After recording, users can turn to the Awesome Intelligence features built into the device gallery. One highlighted feature is Create Filter, which lets users match a video’s color tone to a specific image or photo reference.

Samsung says that tool can help keep visual style consistent without needing additional editing equipment. The company also notes that users can complete editing and social media uploads directly from the smartphone.

The main camera is a 50MP unit, which Samsung says is intended to capture detail from everyday moments. The company highlights scenes such as a city at night or time spent with friends as the type of content the phone is meant to preserve.

Battery life and durability round out the package

Samsung says the Galaxy A37 5G battery can last up to two days, giving users more room to shoot, edit, and publish without constantly looking for a charger. That endurance is aimed at supporting the full content-making process from start to finish.

The phone also carries an IP68 rating. That protection makes it more resistant to dust and water, giving users more confidence when shooting outdoors or in light rain.

Samsung is using this mix of low-light video tools, AI-assisted gallery features, an editing-friendly display, long battery life, and durability to define the Galaxy A37 5G. The company’s pitch is straightforward: this is a phone for users who want short videos that look better in the dark and are ready to share immediately.
