ASUS ROG Flow Z13 KJP is not trying to be a normal 2-in-1. It is a special-edition gaming tablet built with Kojima Productions, and it arrives with hardware that looks far more extreme than most mobile devices.
The most striking part is the way ASUS combines a thick tablet body, an integrated kickstand, and a detachable keyboard into one package. The design also leans hard into premium styling, with carbon fiber on the back and gold or bronze-toned aluminum accents.
That ambition, however, comes with practical trade-offs. The device is better suited to a bed or lounge area than a cramped plane tray or train seat, because its thickness and kickstand dependency make tight spaces less friendly.
128GB of RAM and a rare AMD configuration
The headline specification is the use of AMD Ryzen AI Max 395 Plus paired with 128GB of RAM. That combination is highly unusual for a 2-in-1 and places the device in a very small performance class.
Because the system uses an APU without a separate discrete GPU, memory can be split aggressively between CPU and graphics workloads. ASUS says 64GB can be allocated to the GPU and the remaining 64GB to the CPU, a setup meant to maximize both compute and visual performance in one machine.
The 180Hz display supports that positioning by keeping motion fast and responsive. In practical terms, the machine is designed to handle demanding games without obvious bottlenecks while still offering a smooth visual experience.
Performance stays strong even when unplugged
One of the most notable claims around the device is that it remains powerful on battery. In real-world testing, it is said to run demanding titles such as Ark Raiders and Forza Horizon 7 at more than 60 FPS while staying stable and quiet.
It also appears well suited for competitive games like Counter-Strike, while casual touch-focused titles such as Balatro benefit from the tablet format itself. For creators, the same hardware also helps heavy applications such as DaVinci Resolve and Adobe Lightroom run without lag.
Power delivery is where the compromise shows
The performance ceiling comes with an equally serious charging requirement. To reach peak performance, the device needs the bundled 200W charger, and that adapter is described as thick and heavy.
ROG Flow Z13 KJP does include two USB 4 ports rated at 40Gbps with Power Delivery support up to 120W. Even so, that is still not enough to unlock the full potential of the Ryzen AI Max chip inside.
With all major components placed behind the display, cable management can also look messy when multiple accessories are attached. In full-use mode, cables can end up spread across both sides of the tablet rather than staying neatly contained.
A niche device that may appeal most to collectors
ASUS says battery life sits at around 8 hours, which is not class-leading but remains notable for a device with this level of performance. In the context of gaming tablets, the balance of efficiency and raw power makes it stand out from more conventional 2-in-1 products.
As a limited-edition release, the ROG Flow Z13 KJP is expected to carry a very high price. Its rarity, the Kojima Productions name, and its extreme specifications make it a likely target for tech collectors and Hideo Kojima fans alike.
