Fresh leaks have pushed the Oppo Find X10 Ultra into the spotlight as one of the most unusual Android flagships expected for 2027. The device is said to keep a dual periscope camera setup, including a 10x optical zoom lens that may become rare in the premium Android segment.
That possibility comes from Digital Chat Station, a tipster with a strong track record in revealing flagship hardware early. In the latest claim, the broader Android ultra-premium market next year may move away from this kind of setup, leaving Oppo in a highly distinctive position.
Camera strategy remains the main talking point
If the leak proves accurate, Oppo would be choosing a path that differs from many of its rivals. The Find X10 Ultra is rumored to retain two periscope lenses, with the 10x super telephoto unit positioned as the headline feature.
That approach suggests Oppo is still relying on optical hardware rather than shifting entirely toward high-resolution sensors and heavy software cropping. As some competitors adjust their camera roadmaps, Oppo appears to be betting on pure optical zoom for more versatility.
More camera upgrades may still be in development
The dual periscope system may not be the only change under consideration. Oppo is also said to be preparing other camera improvements for the Find X10 Ultra, although the technical details have not yet been revealed.
Earlier rumors pointed to a Samsung HPA LOFIC 200MP main sensor, described as a next-generation component that could work alongside a more advanced telephoto system. If that combination materializes, the phone would clearly be aiming at the ultra-premium tier.
Early hardware hints suggest a large flagship
Beyond imaging, earlier leaks have outlined a 6.89-inch LTPO OLED display with 2K resolution. Battery capacity is also said to exceed 7,000mAh, which would make it one of the more ambitious endurance claims in the flagship category.
Those figures point to a device built for more than photography alone. Oppo seems to be preparing a phone that can also handle heavy daily use with a large screen and a notably large battery.
Rivals may be stepping back from 10x zoom
The leak also pulls a rival into the conversation. Digital Chat Station said one Android maker had tested a 10x telephoto camera, but the latest prototype has reportedly been canceled.
Instead, that company is said to have stuck with a 200MP periscope camera paired with In-Sensor Zoom, or ISZ. The brand was not named directly, but the hints have been widely associated with Vivo.
Flagship competition in 2027 may look very different
Previous leaks had suggested Vivo was testing a 10x telephoto camera for a possible Vivo X500 Ultra. If the cancellation claim is correct, Vivo may return to its familiar formula of a single 200MP periscope camera.
That would leave Oppo’s dual periscope strategy looking even more aggressive by comparison. The setup previously offered more flexibility across zoom distances, while rivals appear to be leaning more heavily on large sensors and image processing.
Launch timing is still unconfirmed
The Find X10 Ultra is expected to arrive in the first half of 2027 after the regular Find X10 series is introduced. For now, however, every detail remains in leak territory and has not been confirmed by Oppo.
The final specification sheet will only become clear once the company makes an official announcement. Until then, the early rumors already suggest that Android flagship camera competition in 2027 could take a very different direction.
