OnePlus has now confirmed the India launch of the OnePlus N6 for 30 June at 12.00 PM IST. The timing matters because the new N series is being positioned as a more affordable family of phones for the Indian market.
The company has also already outlined the pricing band for the lineup, placing OnePlus N devices between Rs. 18,000 and Rs. 25,000. That immediately sets the new series below the existing Nord range and gives buyers a clearer idea of where OnePlus wants to compete.
A new entry point for OnePlus buyers
OnePlus is framing the N lineup as a way to bring its “core OnePlus experience” to a wider audience. The company says the series is aimed at younger users and the “neo generation” in India.
The launch date was shared through OnePlus’ official X account, alongside the first formal reveal of the OnePlus N6. Earlier expectations had pointed to a July debut, so the confirmed schedule brings the phone forward by several weeks.
That move suggests OnePlus is trying to establish the N family quickly as a lower-priced alternative for buyers who have been waiting for a phone below the Nord tier. The strategy also places the series under the newly introduced OnePlus Nord CE 6.
Pricing and market position
The announced range of Rs. 18,000 to Rs. 25,000 makes the N series one of the brand’s most affordable offerings in India. OnePlus has said the lineup will sit below the Nord series already sold in the country.
Earlier reports had suggested that some models in the series could cost below Rs. 20,000. However, OnePlus has not confirmed pricing for individual devices yet, so the final position of each model still has to wait for launch day.
This makes the N family look like a new entry-level direction for OnePlus. It also gives the company a more direct way to target shoppers who want the brand experience without moving into Nord-level pricing.
Design details already shown
Along with the launch timing, OnePlus has also shown the design of the OnePlus N6. Visually, it resembles the OnePlus Nord CE 6, which makes the new model easy to place within the company’s current design language.
The rear panel is flat, and the camera system sits inside a square module in the top-left corner. That module houses two rear cameras and an LED flash, while the OnePlus logo is centered on the back.
The phone also uses a flat frame, which matches a common trend in today’s smartphone market. OnePlus will offer the device in two colors for India: black and green.
Button placement and port layout
OnePlus has shown more than just the back panel. The power button and volume keys are placed on the right side, while the left edge remains clean with no extra buttons.
At the bottom, the phone includes a USB Type-C port, a speaker grille, and a SIM tray. The top edge carries a secondary microphone opening, giving the device a fairly standard physical layout.
Front display and what remains unknown
The front of the OnePlus N6 uses a flat display with a centered punch-hole cutout for the selfie camera. The bezels appear relatively thick, which reinforces its lower-cost positioning in the lineup.
OnePlus has not yet revealed the chipset, battery capacity, charging speed, or camera specifications. For now, the company is focusing on launch timing, design, color options, and market placement rather than full technical details.
Sales in India will go through Amazon
OnePlus has confirmed that the OnePlus N6 will be sold in India through Amazon. That points to an online-first availability strategy when the device goes on sale.
With the launch now fixed for 30 June, the next key moment will be the unveiling of the full specifications and final pricing. That event will show how aggressively OnePlus plans to compete in India’s affordable smartphone segment with the new N series.
