Realme has placed endurance at the center of the Realme P4R 5G, a budget smartphone launched in India with an 8,000mAh battery, MIL-STD-810H certification, and IP65 protection. The formula is straightforward: long battery life, practical performance, and a tougher body than most phones in its price class.
The device is aimed at users who want a handset that can last for years, not just survive the first few months of use. Realme pairs that promise with hardware choices that favor efficiency and durability over premium extras.
Battery life takes priority
The biggest headline is the silicon-carbon battery rated at 8,000mAh. Realme claims it can handle up to 1,600 charging cycles and still retain more than 80% of its original capacity after 7 years of use.
Charging is handled by 45W SUPERVOOC, which Realme says can refill the battery from 0 to 50% in 30 minutes. For lighter routines such as social media, calls, and streaming, the company says the phone can last up to three days on a single charge.
The phone also includes bypass charging, a feature useful during gaming while plugged in. Power is routed directly to the system, helping reduce heat and easing battery stress over time.
Built for rougher use
Beyond battery life, the Realme P4R 5G is built to withstand harder conditions than a typical affordable phone. Its MIL-STD-810H certification covers shock, vibration, extreme temperatures, and drops from height.
IP65 protection adds resistance against dust and water splashes from multiple directions. On the front, the 6.8-inch HD+ display is protected by Panda-1681 glass, which Realme says offers better scratch resistance than standard glass in its class.
The handset measures 166.4 x 78.2 x 8.8 mm and weighs 224 grams. Realme also offers Lavender Glare, Titanium Glare, and Silver Glare finishes with an anti-fingerprint surface.
Everyday performance, not a gaming push
For processing power, the device uses MediaTek Dimensity 6300 built on a 4nm process. That makes it suitable for everyday tasks such as WhatsApp, Instagram, YouTube, Zoom, Google Meet, and light gaming at low settings.
Memory options include 4GB/128GB, 6GB/128GB, and 6GB/256GB. All variants use LPDDR4X RAM and UFS 2.2 storage, with microSD support available for expansion.
The display choice is one of the clearest compromises. At 252 ppi, the 6.8-inch HD+ panel is less sharp than a Full HD+ screen, but it fits the phone’s focus on battery efficiency and cost control.
Cooling and cameras stay practical
To help maintain stable temperatures, Realme uses a 5,300mm² vapor chamber and a multi-layer heat pipe. The cooling setup is designed to support long sessions, including use while charging.
The camera system is functional rather than ambitious. On the back, the phone carries a 50MP main camera with autofocus and a 2MP depth sensor, while the front camera uses an 8MP sensor for casual selfies and video calls.
That approach matches the rest of the phone. Realme is not trying to compete on camera ambition here, but on dependable basics and a battery-first design that is rare at this level.
Pricing and availability
The Realme P4R 5G starts at Rs 18,999 for the 4GB/128GB model. During the first 12 hours of sales on 17 June, that price drops to Rs 16,999 after bank discounts.
The 6GB/128GB variant is priced at Rs 20,999 and falls to Rs 18,999 during the opening promotion. The 6GB/256GB model costs Rs 22,999 and is reduced to Rs 20,999 in the same period.
Sales run through Flipkart and Realme.com. In this price band, the phone is positioned against rivals such as Redmi, Samsung Galaxy M series, and Tecno, but with a different selling point: a larger battery, stronger physical durability, and a much longer claimed lifespan.
