Vivo has moved quickly to build momentum for the X Fold 6 by opening pre-orders in China before launch day. The foldable is set to be unveiled on June 26 at 7:00 pm CST, or 4:30 pm IST, and early buyers now have an added incentive to act fast.
Anyone placing a pre-order across mainland China’s online platforms will be entered into a lucky draw for a chance to win a Vivo X Fold 6 for free. That promotion turns the reservation period into part of the product story, not just a waiting list.
Camera takes the lead
Vivo is positioning the X Fold 6 as a serious imaging device rather than just another premium foldable. The company has described it as a “foldable mini DSLR,” backed by a 200MP sensor and a Zeiss APO super periscope telephoto lens.
That lens is being highlighted as a first for a foldable device, while Vivo also adds its Blueprint V3+ imaging chip. The phone further supports the Vivo Zeiss G2 teleconverter with an equivalent focal length of 200mm, along with several color style options for photography output.
The company has already shown sample images from the device, suggesting that photography is the main battleground it wants to win. In a market where many foldables lean heavily on design and productivity, Vivo appears determined to make camera performance the headline feature.
Design and color get a refresh
Vivo had previously hinted at a large circular rear camera module, and early leaks also pointed to a striking teal-like finish on the back. The company has now confirmed an official color called Blue Hole, inspired by the appearance of deep-sea blue holes.
It has also outlined updates to the phone’s design language. The X Fold 6 will feature more rounded corners and a 2.5D metal frame with vertical sides, giving the foldable a softer and more modern appearance.
Although Vivo has not yet disclosed full dimensions, weight, or complete material details, the confirmed design changes show a clear shift toward a more polished physical profile. The updated styling is being paired with new display upgrades aimed at improving both brightness and efficiency.
The inner and outer screens will use the latest generation of luminescent material, and the inner panel specifically uses Samsung M14 luminescent material. Vivo says this setup brings higher peak brightness while reducing power consumption.
New chip and software for foldables
Under the hood, Vivo has confirmed MediaTek Dimensity 9500 Super Edition for the X Fold 6. The company says the chip was developed over nearly two years and was designed specifically for foldable devices.
Vivo also claims major gains in AI processing. The NPU performance is said to be 111% higher than the previous generation, while power consumption is claimed to be 56% lower.
Those claims matter because foldable phones usually need stronger efficiency to handle dual displays and heavier multitasking demands. If Vivo’s implementation holds up, the combination of AI performance and lower power use could become one of the device’s most practical advantages.
The phone will launch with OriginOS 6 Fold, paired with an upgraded version of Atomic Workbench. Vivo’s multi-app productivity tool is designed to make better use of the larger foldable display, and the refreshed version is expected to remain central to everyday multitasking.
For now, Vivo has not revealed the price of the X Fold 6. Full pricing and availability details are expected at the June 26 launch event, where the company will also confirm whether its camera-first approach is enough to stand out in China’s premium foldable segment.
