HP OmniBook Ultra 14 Turns Out to Run Cyberpunk Smoothly, a Light Laptop That Moves Fast

HP OmniBook Ultra 14 is no longer just a thin-and-light machine for creative work and premium office tasks. It now stands out for something far less expected: a level of gaming performance that is unusually strong for a 14-inch subnotebook.

The key point is not only speed, but how much that speed changes what this class of laptop can do. Weighing under 1.3 kilograms, the device remains highly portable while still handling demanding graphics loads in a way that is surprising for its size.

A new GPU that shifts the balance

The latest HP OmniBook Ultra 14 uses Intel Panther Lake X9, paired with the Arc B390 GPU. HP says internal testing shows graphics performance rising by around 40 to 50 percent compared with the 2025 model, which still used Arc 140T.

That improvement places the notebook among the fastest 14-inch laptops in its category. It also widens its appeal beyond creative professionals, since the same hardware now has more room for heavier visual workloads.

Cyberpunk 2077 runs much more smoothly

The clearest example comes from Cyberpunk 2077. At Ultra 1080p settings, the OmniBook Ultra 14 reportedly reached an average of 45 FPS without XeSS upscaling.

That is a meaningful jump over the 2025 model, which managed only 31 FPS under similar conditions. For a laptop this slim and light, the result shows that HP has given graphics performance far more headroom than many would expect.

Portability is still intact

The most notable part of the package is that the stronger graphics performance does not come at the cost of mobility. The OLED 3K display offers a high-resolution panel that naturally demands more computing power, yet the laptop still manages smooth gaming at 1080p.

With a body weight below 1.3 kilograms, it remains easy to carry for work, travel, or daily use. That balance makes it feel less like a compromise and more like a premium ultraportable that can also handle entertainment far better than expected.

Pressure on the competition is growing

This positioning makes the OmniBook Ultra 14 more aggressive in the premium thin-laptop segment. It is being placed ahead of rivals such as the Lenovo Yoga Pro 7 14 and Asus ExpertBook Ultra.

By using the Intel Panther Lake X9 platform, HP appears to be setting a new reference point for the subnotebook class. The goal is no longer only to satisfy professionals who need a compact work device, but also users who want heavier gaming or multimedia use without moving to a bulky gaming laptop.

Premium pricing, broader use case

In the global market, the HP OmniBook Ultra 14 is priced between Rp25.000.000 and Rp30.000.000, depending on RAM and storage configuration. That places it firmly in the premium tier, but the hardware mix explains why HP is aiming at buyers who want one device for multiple demanding roles.

With notably stronger graphics performance, the ability to run heavyweight games, and a chassis that still stays very light, the HP OmniBook Ultra 14 has become a compact work laptop with far more hidden entertainment power than its shape suggests.
