Redmi Turbo 5 Brings 7,540mAh Battery and Dimensity 8500-Ultra to the Forefront

Redmi Turbo 5 arrives with a combination that is hard to ignore: a Dimensity 8500-Ultra chipset and a 7,540mAh battery. For users who prioritize gaming stamina and sustained performance, that pairing places the device in a particularly aggressive position.

Xiaomi is positioning the Turbo line as a performance-focused series that still stays competitive on price. In this generation, the emphasis is not only on speed, but also on thermal control and endurance for long gaming sessions.

Built for heavy gaming loads

Redmi Turbo 5 is the first phone in India to use the 4nm-based MediaTek Dimensity 8500-Ultra. It is paired with up to 12GB of LPDDR5X Ultra RAM and 256GB of UFS 4.1 storage.

Xiaomi says the configuration pushes the AnTuTu benchmark score beyond 2,300,000 points. The company also includes Wildboost optimization to help keep frame rates steady in demanding games such as Genshin Impact and Honkai: Star Rail.

Big battery, still relatively slim

The battery is one of the phone’s biggest talking points, with a capacity of 7,540mAh. Even with that size, the device remains fairly compact at 8.18 mm thick and 204 grams in weight.

That figure is only 20mAh below the China version, which carries a 7,560mAh battery. For mobile gamers and heavy users, the larger capacity should translate into longer use between charges.

Fast charging and reverse power sharing

Xiaomi equips Redmi Turbo 5 with 100W HyperCharge wired charging. From near-empty, the battery is said to return to usable levels in under half an hour.

The phone also supports 27W reverse wired charging. That allows it to top up accessories such as TWS earbuds or even another phone when needed.

Bright AMOLED display with high touch response

On the front, Redmi Turbo 5 features a flat 6.59-inch AMOLED display with 1.5K resolution. The panel supports a 120Hz refresh rate and an instant touch sampling rate of up to 2,560Hz.

Peak brightness reaches 3,500 nits, which should help visibility outdoors. Corning Gorilla Glass 7i is also included to improve resistance against scratches and light impact.

Cooling designed for long sessions

To reduce performance loss during extended play, Xiaomi uses a 3D Ice-Loop Cooling System inside the device. The setup includes a 5,300 mm² vapor chamber to help disperse heat from the chipset.

That approach matters for users who keep phones under sustained load for long periods. Better heat management should help limit throttling when the device is pushed hard.

Durability and gamer styling

Redmi Turbo 5 uses a metal frame and carries IP66, IP68, IP69, and IP69K certification. In practical terms, it is built to offer stronger resistance against dust, water, and high-pressure or high-temperature water jets.

At the back, Xiaomi adds a dynamic RGB ring called REDMI Pixel Matrix. It can serve as a notification and alert indicator while also giving the phone a more distinct gaming look.

Cameras, software, and launch details

The camera setup includes a 50MP Sony IMX882 main camera with OIS and EIS, an 8MP ultrawide camera, and a 20MP selfie camera. The device can also record video at up to 4K 60fps and runs HyperOS 3 based on Android 16.

Xiaomi promises 4 years of OS updates and 6 years of security updates. Other features include stereo speakers, an in-display fingerprint sensor, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6.0, and an infrared sensor.

For India, Redmi Turbo 5 is priced at INR 37,999 for the 8GB/256GB variant and INR 40,999 for the 12GB/256GB variant. It comes in Asphalt Black, Nitro Blue, and Turbo White, with sales set to begin on 19 June through Mi.com, Amazon India, and selected offline stores.
