The listing also identifies the internal codename “madrid,” a detail that has quickly fueled fresh speculation about where the phone fits within the Xiaomi 18 family.
Multiple regional variants point to a faster global strategy

That pattern differs from Xiaomi’s usual approach, in which flagship models are often introduced in China first before expanding to other regions later.
