Samsung’s screen privacy feature may be moving beyond a single flagship tier. New leaks suggest the company is preparing to bring its Privacy Display technology to the Galaxy S27 Pro.
If accurate, that would mark a broader rollout for a feature that first stood out on the Galaxy S26 Ultra. Instead of remaining a one-off experiment, Privacy Display could become part of Samsung’s next premium lineup.
A privacy feature built for public use
The idea behind Privacy Display is simple but practical: keep the screen readable from the front while making it difficult for people at the side or behind to see what is on it. That makes it especially relevant for commuting, working in public, or checking private information in crowded spaces.
On the Galaxy S26 Ultra, the feature is said to use a triple-layer AMOLED panel with RL2, VRL, and RL1 layers. The setup reportedly creates physical pixel dimming, which is more than a software privacy filter and is designed to block shoulder-surfing at a hardware level.
What the latest leak says
The new report comes from leaker Digital Chat Station, who claims Samsung is testing a prototype with a 6.47-inch display for the Galaxy S27 Pro. That panel is slightly smaller than the 6.65-inch screen used on the Galaxy S26+.
In the same leak, the Galaxy S27 Ultra is said to keep a 2K 6.89-inch display and retain Privacy Display as well. That points to Samsung treating the feature as something to carry across multiple models, not just its most expensive version.
Why the move matters
Extending Privacy Display to the Pro model would give Samsung a clearer product split while adding a visible privacy benefit to more users. It also suggests the company sees enough value in the feature to continue investing in it after its debut on the Galaxy S26 Ultra.
The timing is notable because privacy-focused screen technology is attracting attention beyond Samsung. Xiaomi 18 Pro is also rumored to feature Privacy Display, indicating that hardware-based screen protection may become a more serious battleground in the flagship market.
Other Galaxy S27 Pro details in the leak
The same set of rumors also touches on the camera system. The Galaxy S27 Pro is said to use a 200 MP ISOCELL HP5 main sensor, alongside a 50 MP Sony LYT-901 ultra-wide camera.
One more detail stands out: the Galaxy S27 Pro may not support the S Pen. If true, that would sharpen the difference between the Pro and Ultra models, although the information remains unconfirmed.
Still early, still fluid
All of these details remain part of the rumor cycle, and Samsung has not confirmed any of them. Screen size, panel technology, camera hardware, and stylus support can still change before launch.
Even so, the direction of the leak is clear. Samsung appears interested in keeping Privacy Display alive beyond one generation, with the Galaxy S27 Pro emerging as the next likely recipient.
