Oppo Find N7 May Redraw the Foldable Race With a Near Crease-Free Display

Oppo is reportedly preparing a major shift for its foldable lineup with the Find N7. The device is said to arrive as the company’s first wide-folding phone, with a strong focus on an inner display that is nearly free of visible crease marks.

That combination could make the Find N7 stand out in a crowded foldable market. If the latest leaks prove accurate, Oppo is not just refining its panel technology, but also reworking the device format and rear design in a more dramatic way.

A wider format, a different identity

The most notable change is said to be the move to a wide-folding format. According to tipster Smart Pikachu, this would make the Find N7 Oppo’s first handset with this layout, which would naturally change the screen ratio compared with its predecessors.

That shift is also expected to affect the rear module. Oppo is reportedly replacing the circular camera island used on the previous generation with a horizontal rear camera arrangement.

In practical terms, the wider body could give the phone a more expansive feel when opened while still keeping the outer screen useful for everyday tasks. It also suggests Oppo wants the Find N7 to look and function differently from the model before it.

Display and chipset details

The internal foldable panel is said to measure 7.6 inches, while the cover display may come in at 5.5 inches. The screen panel is also rumored to come from either Samsung Display or BOE, although no official supplier confirmation has been made.

On the performance side, the Find N7 is rumored to use Qualcomm’s unreleased Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 series chipset. The octa-core chip is also said to have the potential to be built on a 2nm process, though final details remain unconfirmed.

Positioning ahead of a 2027 launch

Oppo Find N7 is reportedly scheduled to launch in China in the first quarter of 2027. That timing places it after the first foldable iPhone and Samsung’s first wide-folding device, both of which are also said to use a similar aspect ratio.

For Oppo, that timing could be strategically important. Entering later may allow the company to present a more mature take on the wide-foldable concept, especially if the crease-free panel and hinge experience become the main selling points.

Still, all of these details remain in the rumor stage. Oppo has not officially announced the Find N7’s design, specifications, or launch window.

How it compares with Find N6

The Find N7 is expected to succeed the Oppo Find N6, which launched in China on March 17 at a starting price of CNY 9,999 for the 12GB + 256GB variant.

The Find N6 came with Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, an 8.12-inch OLED foldable display, and a 6.62-inch AMOLED cover screen. It also included a 6,000mAh battery, 80W wired charging, and 50W wireless charging.

Compared with that model, the rumored Find N7 would appear to be moving in a different direction. Its inner and outer displays are both said to be smaller, while the new horizontal camera layout reinforces the idea that Oppo is planning a more significant redesign than a simple refresh.

If the leaks are accurate, the Find N7 could become an important step in Oppo’s foldable strategy. Its appeal would likely rest on the combination of a near crease-free display, a new wide-folding body, and a more distinct visual identity.
