POCO has used the arrival of the POCO X8 Pro Yellow in Indonesia to sharpen its identity once again. The yellow edition is aimed at users who want a phone that looks different without giving up the aggressive performance profile the brand is known for.

The model combines a high-end chipset, a large battery, fast charging, and a durable body in one package. That combination places the POCO X8 Pro Yellow in a segment that is clearly designed for gamers and younger users who expect more than just a cosmetic refresh.

A yellow design built to stand out

The rear panel carries POCO’s Racetrack Aesthetics, with dynamic racing lines and a customizable Dynamic RGB Light. The visual formula is meant to push the brand’s familiar yellow identity even further.

According to Novita Krisutami, PR Manager of POCO Indonesia, the color represents the brand’s push to break through innovation limits. The device also uses a metal frame and Corning Gorilla Glass 7i for added protection.

Durability is one of the most notable parts of the device’s positioning. POCO says the phone carries four resistance certifications at once: IP66, IP68, IP69, and IP69K.

That means the device is built for more than ordinary daily use, with protection against dust, water immersion, and even high-pressure, high-temperature water spray. In practice, POCO is presenting the model as both expressive and tough.

Performance remains the main attraction

The strongest headline feature is its MediaTek Dimensity 8500-Ultra chipset built on 4nm manufacturing. POCO claims the phone can score up to 2.2 million on AnTuTu, while GPU performance is said to rise by 25% over the previous generation.

To keep performance steady during long gaming sessions, the phone uses a POCO 3D Dual-layer IceLoop cooling system with a 5,300mm² heat dissipation area. It is also equipped with WildBoost Optimization, LPDDR5X RAM, and UFS 4.1 storage.

Those components are meant to reduce throttling and keep frame rates stable under sustained load. For the target audience, that is the core reason this model matters more than a simple color variant.

Bright display, large battery, and fast charging

On the front, the POCO X8 Pro Yellow uses a 1.5K AMOLED panel with peak brightness of up to 3,500 nits. The high brightness level is intended to keep the screen readable even under direct sunlight.

Power comes from a 6,500 mAh Silicon-Carbon battery that helps POCO fit a large capacity into a compact and ergonomic body. The company pairs it with 100W HyperCharge, which is said to charge the phone from 1% to 100% in 48 minutes.

The device also supports 27W wired reverse charging. That makes it usable as a portable power source for other devices when needed.

Camera, software, and offline communication

The camera setup centers on a 50MP Sony IMX882 main sensor with OIS. The optical stabilization is meant to reduce shake and improve video stability in everyday use.

The phone runs Xiaomi HyperOS 3 and connects to HyperAI along with Google Gemini for productivity-focused features. POCO also includes Xiaomi Offline Communication, one of the more unusual additions in this class.

That feature enables voice calls to compatible devices within a radius of up to 1 kilometer without cellular signal, data quota, or phone credit. It is a practical option for emergency situations or areas with poor network coverage.

Indonesia availability

The POCO X8 Pro Yellow is scheduled to go on sale in Indonesia starting June 25, 2026. Sales will open through Mi.com and the POCO Official Store on platforms including Shopee, Tokopedia, TikTok Shop, Blibli, Lazada, and Akulaku.

The wide distribution list suggests POCO is preparing for broad reach from the start. For buyers, that could make the yellow edition easier to find than some earlier special variants that disappeared quickly once demand rose.
