Honor X80 Pro Max Pushes Battery Limits, Yet Still Starts at 1,999 Yuan

Honor has introduced the X80 Pro Max in China with a specification that immediately defines the device: an 11,000 mAh battery. The company says it is the largest battery currently offered by a mainstream brand, and it is designed to deliver standby time of up to 42 days on a single charge.

That massive power reserve is paired with 27-watt reverse wired charging, allowing the phone to act as a power bank for other devices. Honor also linked the handset to a Guinness world record after it reportedly powered the longest continuous smartphone live stream, lasting more than 26 hours without interruption.

Battery First, But Not Battery Only

Honor built the X80 Pro Max around fourth-generation Qinghai Lake battery technology. The company’s approach is clearly aimed at users who value endurance first, while still expecting a device that can support modern daily use.

Fast charging is part of that package as well, with 90-watt wired charging included. That combination places the phone among the more aggressive battery-focused options in the midrange segment.

Display And Design Keep The Premium Feel

Beyond endurance, the X80 Pro Max uses a 6.8-inch OLED display with a resolution of 2,788 x 1,280 pixels. It also supports an adaptive refresh rate from 60 Hz to 120 Hz, along with 3,840 Hz PWM dimming.

Honor says the panel can reach a peak brightness of 10,000 nits under certain conditions. The front is framed by slim bezels of about 1.3 mm, helping the handset retain a modern and premium appearance despite the unusually large battery inside.

Performance, Memory, And Software

The phone is powered by Snapdragon 6 Gen 5, a chipset manufactured on a 4-nanometer process. Memory options go up to 12 GB of LPDDR5 RAM, while storage reaches 512 GB using UFS 3.1.

Honor ships the device with Android 16 and MagicOS 10, and it adds AI-based features such as AI Outdoor Mode and AI Grip Control. The software package is designed to support practical use without shifting attention away from the battery-first identity of the phone.

Cameras, Durability, And Everyday Features

For imaging, the X80 Pro Max carries a 50 MP main camera with optical image stabilization and CIPA 6.0 stabilization support. The front camera is an 8 MP unit, making the setup straightforward rather than camera-heavy.

The device also includes an in-display fingerprint sensor, stereo speakers, NFC, an IR blaster, dual-frequency GPS, and BeiDou tri-band support. On the durability side, Honor says the phone has IP66, IP68, IP69, and IP69K ratings, plus SGS Five-Star Drop Resistance certification.

Colors And China Pricing

Honor offers the X80 Pro Max in Lightning Red, Vibrant Orange, Moon Shadow White, and Mystic Black. In China, pricing starts at 1,999 yuan for the 8 GB/128 GB model.

The 8 GB/256 GB version is listed at 2,199 yuan, while the 8 GB/512 GB model costs 2,499 yuan. The top configuration, 12 GB/512 GB, is priced at 2,799 yuan.

Honor has not announced global availability, including for Indonesia, so the X80 Pro Max remains limited to China for now. For buyers watching the battery category, it is one of the most unusual mainstream launches to appear in the market this year.
