Huawei has expanded its wireless audio lineup in India with two new TWS models, the FreeBuds 7i and FreeBuds SE 4. Both arrive below Rs 10,000 and bring features that are more commonly associated with higher-priced earbuds, including Active Noise Cancellation.
The more affordable model is built around endurance, while the higher-tier option pushes harder on audio controls and tuning. That split gives Huawei two distinct entries for buyers who want either long battery life or a more feature-rich listening experience.
Two models, two priorities
FreeBuds SE 4 is priced at Rs 4,799, while FreeBuds 7i comes in at Rs 8,799. Both are already available through Amazon India, Flipkart, and RTC India’s website.
That pricing keeps the pair squarely in the budget-to-midrange segment, but the hardware is aimed at competing beyond that bracket. Huawei is clearly using the two models to target different user expectations at the same time.
Battery life is the biggest draw on the SE 4
FreeBuds SE 4 is the endurance-focused option, with a claimed total battery life of up to 50 hours. Each earbud carries a 41mAh battery, while the charging case uses a 520mAh cell.
For users who want fewer charging interruptions, that number will matter more than extra tuning tools. The SE 4 also supports ANC up to 28 dB, making it a more complete everyday package than its price might suggest.
FreeBuds 7i leans harder into audio control
FreeBuds 7i uses 11 mm quad-magnetic drivers and supports multi-mode ANC up to 28 dB. Huawei says the model is designed to handle noisy environments of up to 90 dB, which positions it as the more adaptable of the two.
The 7i also includes a 10-band custom EQ, giving users more room to shape the sound. On paper, that makes it the stronger choice for people who care about adjusting audio rather than simply extending battery life.
Calls, pairing, and everyday convenience
FreeBuds SE 4 includes a three-microphone system for calls, along with Bluetooth 5.4 support. It also offers gesture controls, instant pairing, manual pairing, and simultaneous connection to two devices.
FreeBuds 7i supports gesture controls for playback and calls, plus pop-up pairing, audio sharing, and Huawei AI Life and Audio Connect app support. It also works across Android, iOS, Windows, and Mac with multi-device pairing.
Built for daily use
Both earbuds carry an IP54 rating, which adds protection against dust and splashes. Huawei also offers different color options for each model, with the FreeBuds 7i available in Black, White, and Pink, and the FreeBuds SE 4 sold in Black and White.
With these launches, Huawei is trying to cover both ends of the value equation in one move. The FreeBuds 7i brings more control and wider platform support, while the FreeBuds SE 4 focuses on price and battery life without giving up ANC support.
