Ai+ Drops Embargoes on Nova 2 Neo and Nova 2 Pro 5G, Madhav Sheth Invites Open Reviews

Ai+ has taken an unusually open approach to its latest launch, with CEO Madhav Sheth inviting reviewers, creators, journalists, and tech fans to evaluate the Nova 2 Neo and Nova 2 Pro 5G without restrictions or embargoes. The move comes as the company tries to put its new devices in front of public scrutiny from day one.

The two phones are aimed at the more affordable 5G segment, and both lean on large batteries, high refresh rate displays, and MediaTek chipsets. Ai+ is clearly betting that direct access and straightforward pricing can help the new lineup stand out after earlier launch criticism.

Open access, no embargo

Sheth said that anyone covering the phones is welcome to test them freely, making this launch notably different from the tightly controlled review cycles common in the industry. The decision removes the usual barriers that can limit early impressions of a new device.

That approach places the emphasis squarely on how the phones perform in public evaluation. For potential buyers, it also means independent opinions are likely to arrive quickly once the devices are available.

Two models, two price tiers

The lineup is split into two clear options. Nova 2 Neo is the more budget-friendly model, while Nova 2 Pro 5G steps up with a larger screen, faster charging, and a stronger overall feature set.

Both devices run Android 16 with Ai+’s nxtQ OS, and both carry a 6000mAh battery. That shared foundation gives the series a practical baseline even though the two phones target different buyers.

Ai+ Nova 2 Neo

Nova 2 Neo uses a 6.74-inch LCD panel with HD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. Its brightness reaches up to 600 nits HBM, which should help visibility in brighter conditions.

Under the hood, the phone is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 with an ARM Mali-G57 MC2 GPU. The camera setup includes a 48MP rear camera with a Sony IMX582 sensor and LED flash, plus an 8MP front camera.

The phone also places a side-mounted fingerprint sensor on the frame. Battery support includes a 6000mAh cell and 18W fast charging.

Ai+ Nova 2 Pro 5G

The Pro model moves to a larger 6.9-inch FHD+ LCD display with a 144Hz refresh rate and up to 800 nits HBM brightness. That gives it the sharper and faster panel of the two, along with a more premium presentation.

Performance is handled by the MediaTek Dimensity 7100 paired with a Mali-G610 GPU. Ai+ also adds a 48MP main rear camera with the Sony IMX582 sensor and an 8MP ultra-wide camera.

On the front, the Nova 2 Pro 5G uses a 13MP selfie camera that supports video recording up to 2K at 30fps. The battery remains 6000mAh, but charging rises to 33W.

Sale date and availability

Ai+ has already announced pricing for both devices, and sales are set to begin on 26 June through Flipkart at 12:00 PM IST. That timing puts the products in market at the same moment the company is asking reviewers to judge them openly.

The combination of launch pricing, broad public access, and a no-embargo review policy makes the Nova 2 series a particularly visible release. The real test now is how the two phones will hold up once they reach buyers and independent reviewers at the same time.
