RedMagic is preparing to raise the bar in the gaming tablet market with the Gaming Tablet 5 Pro, a device built around high performance and more stable thermal control for long play sessions. The tablet is reported to debut in China on 30 June 2026.
The biggest talking point is not only the flagship chipset inside, but also the way RedMagic plans to manage heat. In a segment where sustained performance matters as much as peak speed, liquid cooling could become the feature that separates this tablet from more conventional rivals.
Flagship Power, Backed by a Different Cooling Strategy
The RedMagic Gaming Tablet 5 Pro is said to run on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5. That chip is expected to improve both power efficiency and graphics performance, helping demanding games such as Genshin Impact and Honkai: Star Rail run more smoothly.
RedMagic is not relying on raw hardware alone. The company is reportedly adapting liquid cooling technology from its gaming phones to keep temperatures under control during extended sessions.
That approach matters because tablets used for gaming often stay under load for longer periods. Better thermal management should help the device hold performance more consistently instead of letting frame rates dip as the heat builds up.
A Gaming Design That Does Not Try to Hide It
RedMagic is also leaning into a look that clearly signals gaming intent. The liquid cooling system is visible on the back of the device, giving the tablet a more futuristic appearance than most standard tablets.
The device is expected to come in black and white, with an ergonomic body designed to feel comfortable in the hands during longer gaming sessions. The focus is on grip comfort as much as visual identity.
For many gamers, that kind of design is part of the appeal. The rear treatment gives the tablet a distinct mecha-like personality while reinforcing its purpose as a gaming device rather than a general-purpose media slate.
OLED Display and a Faster 185Hz Refresh Rate
On the display side, the Gaming Tablet 5 Pro is expected to feature a 9-inch OLED panel with a 2,400 x 1,504 resolution. The smaller size compared with the previous generation may make the device easier to handle in competitive play.
The headline upgrade is the 185Hz refresh rate, which is higher than the 165Hz panel used before. That increase should make motion look smoother and more responsive, especially in fast-paced games.

Battery Capacity Is Up, But Charging Details Remain Unclear
To support gaming use, the tablet is said to carry an 8,300mAh battery. That capacity is slightly larger than the one in its predecessor, and the newer chipset may help improve overall efficiency.
One detail still missing is whether the 80W fast-charging system will be upgraded or kept as it is. That remains one of the key questions ahead of the official launch.
With a flagship chip, a 185Hz OLED screen, a large battery, and visible liquid cooling, the Gaming Tablet 5 Pro is shaping up as a serious option for mobile gamers. There is still uncertainty about a global launch under the RedMagic Astra 2 name, including whether it will reach Indonesia.
