RedMagic is preparing to raise the stakes in the gaming tablet market with a device that turns cooling into part of the design. The new model, called RedMagic Gaming Tablet 5 Pro for China, is scheduled to launch on June 30.
The most unusual part is not just the performance focus, but the way RedMagic is presenting the cooling system. Instead of hiding the hardware inside the chassis, the company is making the liquid-cooling pipes visible on the back of the tablet.
A direct successor with a different identity
The new device is the direct successor to the Gaming Tablet 3 Pro, which is known globally as the RedMagic Astra. That means a global release could potentially arrive under the name RedMagic Astra 2.
RedMagic first teased the tablet in May and has now begun revealing official details. Alongside the launch date, the company shared official images that give a clearer look at the device’s design direction.
Visible cooling is the main attraction
The standout feature is the real liquid-cooling system built into the tablet. The pipes are intentionally exposed on the back, giving the device a look that is both technical and futuristic.
