Asus has introduced the ExpertBook Ultra in Indonesia with a clear pitch for modern business work: high performance, local AI processing, and a stronger security layer for sensitive company data.
The device is positioned as a Copilot+ PC, meaning it can run AI features directly on the laptop rather than relying on the cloud. That approach is meant to support heavier multitasking while keeping everyday business workflows fast and more self-contained.
AI features designed to run locally
At the core of the ExpertBook Ultra is support for up to an Intel Core Ultra X9 Processor 388H and an NPU rated at up to 50 TOPS. Asus says this setup is intended to handle AI workloads on-device, including transcription, translation, and webcam optimization through Asus AI ExpertMeet.
By keeping those functions local, the laptop reduces dependence on external cloud services for those tasks. For business users, that can matter when meetings, collaboration, and quick processing need to happen without added delay or network reliance.
Security is the main selling point
Asus is also emphasizing protection through Asus ExpertGuardian, a security package that includes hardware encryption, TPM, Windows Hello IR, a fingerprint sensor, and a built-in webcam cover.
The company says this layered protection is meant to safeguard company data even if the laptop is lost or stolen. Eric Khoven, Commercial Director ASUS Indonesia, said data stored on the device cannot be accessed by unauthorized parties, even if the SSD is moved to another laptop.
Built for mobility and long working hours
The ExpertBook Ultra uses a 14-inch Tandem OLED panel with peak brightness of up to 1,400 nits, making it easier to view in bright outdoor conditions. Asus also highlights its lightweight 1.1 kg body and premium chassis certified to US MIL-STD 810H standards.
Eric also said the laptop can withstand pressure of 100 kg or more, which is meant to reduce worry when it is packed into a bag with documents during business travel. That focus on durability matches the device’s positioning as a premium mobile workstation rather than a standard thin-and-light laptop.
Memory, storage, battery, and connectivity
For heavier work, the ExpertBook Ultra supports up to 64GB LPDDR5x RAM and up to 2TB PCIe Gen 5 SSD storage. It also comes with Wi-Fi 7 and a 70Wh battery that Asus says can last up to 26 hours.
Those specifications place the laptop squarely in the premium business segment, especially for professionals and companies that are starting to build AI into daily operations. The combination of strong battery life, fast storage, and local AI support is meant to make it practical for travel-heavy work schedules.
Part of a wider Asus launch
Alongside the ExpertBook Ultra, Asus also unveiled several other laptops in Indonesia, including the Zenbook Duo, Vivobook S14 and 14 Flip, and the Zenbook S14 and S16 OLED. Among them, the Zenbook Duo stands out with dual-screen Asus Lumina Pro OLED displays, Intel Core Ultra Series 3 or AMD Ryzen AI 400 series processors, and an NPU rated up to 50 TOPS.
Asus says the Zenbook Duo has been refined with a tighter angle between the two screens for a more unified dual-display experience. Its 14-inch touchscreen offers 3K resolution, a 144Hz refresh rate, 0.2ms response time, 100 percent DCI-P3 color coverage, PANTONE Validated certification, and peak brightness of up to 1,000 nits.
