OPPO has confirmed that the Reno16 Series is heading to Indonesia, and the company is putting design and AI at the center of the launch. The lineup is scheduled to arrive on 3 July 2026, with three variants prepared for the market: Reno16 Pro 5G, Reno16 5G, and Reno16 F 5G.
The new series is positioned for younger creators who move quickly across social media and need a phone that can keep pace with content demands. OPPO is pairing that audience focus with a visual identity that it describes as a major step forward for the Reno line.
A back design built to stand out
The biggest visual change comes from what OPPO calls its 3D Planet Design, which the company says is the first of its kind in the mobile industry. The rear panel is engineered to create an optical illusion that resembles a three-dimensional planet rising from the body of the device.
The effect is not static. According to OPPO, the pattern shifts with light reflection and the viewing angle, giving the phone a different appearance as the user moves it.
Even with the stronger visual depth, OPPO says the handset remains compact and comfortable to hold. That balance is meant to keep the design expressive without sacrificing everyday ergonomics.
AI features target faster content creation
The company is also pushing AI as a practical tool rather than a background feature. It has added generative AI capabilities to the camera system so users can produce visual content more quickly without relying on complicated external editing.
ColorOS has also been updated to support a more advanced virtual assistant experience. OPPO says the software changes are intended to make daily use feel more efficient and more responsive to quick tasks.
OPPO Bubble extends the content workflow
Alongside the phones, OPPO introduced an IoT accessory called OPPO Bubble. The device works as a second screen and can serve as a preview monitor when recording content with the rear camera.
It also adds dynamic wallpaper support, extending the Reno16 ecosystem beyond the phone itself. For users focused on documentation and visual expression, the accessory adds another layer of flexibility to the setup.
Preorders are already live in Indonesia
OPPO has opened preorders across its OPPO Store network in Indonesia. Customers who join the preorder phase are promised benefits with a total value of up to Rp5.1 million.
The company also plans a special promotion peak on 7 July through its e-commerce partners, including Shopee, Blibli, Tokopedia, TikTok Shop, Lazada, and Akulaku. With the launch date fixed and the preorder window already underway, the Reno16 Series is now moving into view for buyers watching OPPO’s next move in the mid-range and creator-focused space.
