Creative XF1 Brings Hi-Res DAC, LDAC, and 72W RMS to the Desktop

Creative has introduced the XF1 as a desktop 2.0 speaker that aims to deliver more serious audio features without taking up much space on a desk. The package combines a built-in Hi-Res DAC, Bluetooth 6.0, and a continuous total output of 72W RMS.

That combination sets XF1 apart from many compact desktop speakers, which often rely on basic connectivity alone. Creative also adds a rear expansion port for a future subwoofer, giving the system room to grow if more bass is needed later.

Built for modern desktop listening

One of XF1’s main attractions is its internal DAC with support for 24-bit/96 kHz audio. The feature works through USB-C, so the speaker is not limited to analog input when used with a computer or other compatible device.

Creative also keeps a 3.5mm aux input on the speaker for older devices or setups that still depend on a traditional audio jack. That makes the XF1 easier to integrate into a wider range of desktop, study, or entertainment setups.

For wireless listening, the speaker uses Bluetooth 6.0. It also supports SBC, AAC, and LDAC, which gives compatible Android users a higher-bitrate streaming option.

More power than the usual compact setup

Creative uses a bi-amplified design for the XF1. The system’s 72W RMS continuous output places it in a more powerful class than many desktop 2.0 speakers sold for everyday use.

Each speaker includes a 3-inch woofer, balancing compact dimensions with a setup that still aims to deliver stronger stereo output. The frequency response runs from 55 Hz to 40 kHz, which also helps qualify the model for Hi-Res Audio certification.

For listeners who want deeper low end, Creative has prepared a subwoofer expansion port on the rear of the unit. That allows the XF1 to start as a simple two-speaker setup and later grow into a more bass-focused system.

Desk-friendly design and practical controls

The XF1 remains relatively compact, with each speaker measuring about 6.1 x 3.9 x 7.5 inches. That size makes it suitable for placement beside a monitor without appearing oversized.

The right speaker serves as the main control point. A front-mounted knob handles volume adjustment and source switching, which keeps daily operation simple when moving between a PC, phone, or other connected device.

Creative also includes a pair of cork stands in the box. They tilt the speakers upward for a better listening angle and help reduce vibration transfer to the desk surface.

App control adds another layer

XF1 is compatible with the Creative Nexus app, which expands control beyond the physical knobs and inputs. The app includes a 10-band parametric equalizer for more precise sound tuning.

It also offers a Desktop Mode designed specifically for listening on a desk. That makes the speaker easier to shape for music, video, or general everyday use without adding external hardware.

Creative will offer the XF1 in Black and White, with availability starting 16 July. The speaker is priced at SGD $249, or about $192, and is positioned for users who want a compact desktop system with broader connectivity and more tuning options.
