Garmin has pushed its golf lineup further with the Approach Z10, a compact laser rangefinder built to make distance checks faster and more actionable. Its biggest advantage is not only measuring distance, but also sending the result into Garmin’s connected ecosystem.
That matters on the course, where every second spent confirming yardage can affect club selection and shot planning. With Range Relay, the locked target can automatically share distance data to compatible Garmin smartwatches, handheld devices, or the Garmin Golf app.
More than a standard laser rangefinder
The Approach Z10 measures up to 350 yards to the pin and uses 6x optical magnification for a clearer view of the target. It also helps golfers read the front and back of the green, giving a fuller picture of the landing area.
Garmin kept the device portable enough for long rounds. Weighing less than 7 ounces, the unit is roughly comparable to four or five standard golf balls, which makes it easy to carry throughout a full game.
Range Relay changes the workflow
Once the target is locked, Range Relay sends the distance reading to the connected device right away. Users can then view a laser range arc and study course information in more detail.
This is where the Approach Z10 stands out from a typical rangefinder. The feature is designed to help golfers understand not just the direct distance to the pin, but also the relationship to the front and back of the green.
Built for practical play and competition
Garmin equipped the Approach Z10 with several features aimed at both practice and tournament conditions. The list includes Quickly Range Distance to the Pin, Dynamic Distance, PlaysLike Distance, Tournament Mode, Magnetic Mount, Find My Rangefinder, and long battery life.
Quickly Range Distance to the Pin displays the pin distance together with front and back green measurements, while vibration alerts confirm when the target is locked. Dynamic Distance updates the measurement automatically as the player moves closer, reducing the need to repeat the process.
PlaysLike Distance adjusts the estimated shot distance according to elevation changes on the course. Tournament Mode shows an external indicator that the device is being used in line with official competition rules.
Convenience features are part of the appeal
The Magnetic Mount lets players store the unit on a golf cart with a magnetic holder. Find My Rangefinder can help locate the last known position of the device through the Garmin Golf app if it is misplaced.
Garmin also says the battery can last up to one year of use without replacement. That claim supports the product’s focus on low-maintenance ownership over the long term.
Connected to the Garmin Golf ecosystem
The Approach Z10 is designed to work as part of Garmin’s wider golf platform. When paired with a compatible Garmin smartwatch or the Garmin Golf app, it can deliver richer course information that supports decision-making during play.
That integration makes the device more than a distance tool. It turns the rangefinder into a data source that can be accessed quickly and used alongside other Garmin golf products.
Golf’s younger players are part of the backdrop
Garmin’s launch arrives as golf continues to gain traction among younger players in Indonesia. Data from the Garmin Golf App shows golfers under 20 increased by 76 percent, while the 20 to 29 age group grew by 53 percent.
Garmin Indonesia sees that trend as evidence that golf is becoming more closely tied to digital lifestyles. Chandrawidhi Desideriani, Marketing Communications Senior Manager Garmin Indonesia, said more young players now view golf as part of a lifestyle and social activity.
Price in Indonesia
The Garmin Approach Z10 is now available through official Garmin sales channels in Indonesia. It is priced at Rp5.309.000 at the Garmin Official Online Store on Shopee, Tokopedia, TikTok Shop, Blibli, Lazada, Eraspace, and offline Garmin Brand Stores.
Beyond the product launch, Garmin Indonesia continues to run the Garmin Golf Club program to support the local golf community. The second batch includes 12 selected members who are being mentored by Coach Fajar Win Nuryanto and Coach Putri Aisyah Amani, with the program set to end in a graduation ceremony on 1 October 2026.
