Oppo has taken the Reno 16 series global with a twist that is hard to miss: the international versions do not match the China models. The biggest changes are in the chipset and battery, while the Reno 16 Pro global also gains one notable upgrade in display refresh rate.
The global launch took place on Thursday, June 25, 2026, exactly one month after the Reno 16 lineup debuted in China. Oppo introduced two models for overseas markets, the Reno 16 5G and the Reno 16 Pro 5G.
Reno 16 Pro global stands out on the screen
The Reno 16 Pro global uses a 6.32-inch AMOLED display with Full HD Plus resolution. Its 144 Hz refresh rate is higher than the China version, which stops at 120 Hz.
That advantage comes with a smaller panel, however, since the China model uses a 6.78-inch display. The global version also reaches a peak brightness of 3,600 nits and includes an optical in-display fingerprint sensor.
For memory, the Reno 16 Pro global pairs 12 GB of RAM with 512 GB of storage. Oppo equips it with MediaTek Dimensity 8550 Super, a step below the Dimensity 9500s found in the China version.
The camera system remains unchanged from the China model. It includes a 200 MP main camera based on the Samsung S5KHP5 sensor with OIS, a 50 MP ultrawide camera, and a 50 MP telephoto camera with 3.5x optical zoom and OIS.
The front camera also carries a 50 MP sensor. Even with the lower chipset and smaller battery, the Pro model still keeps photography as one of its main selling points.
The regular Reno 16 takes a different route
The standard Reno 16 global also comes with a 6.32-inch AMOLED Full HD Plus display, but its refresh rate is capped at 120 Hz. Oppo uses Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 instead of the MediaTek Dimensity 8500 Super seen on the China model.
Memory options include 8 GB or 12 GB of RAM, paired with 256 GB or 512 GB of storage. The rear camera setup consists of a 50 MP Sony LYT-600 main camera with OIS, the same 50 MP ultrawide camera used on the Pro model, and a 50 MP telephoto camera with 3.5x optical zoom.
A 50 MP selfie camera completes the imaging setup. On battery, the global Reno 16 does not follow a single configuration across markets.
In Europe, the phone is equipped with a 6,000 mAh battery rather than the 6,700 mAh unit used in China. The Reno 16 Pro global also sees a battery reduction, with a 6,700 mAh silicon-carbon battery instead of 7,000 mAh.
Shared features across the global lineup
All Reno 16 global models support 80W SuperVOOC fast charging. Oppo also ships the phones with Android 16 and ColorOS 16, along with stereo speakers, a HyperCool Vapor Chamber, Bluetooth 5.4, NFC, and an AI Key on the left side of the body.
Durability is another strong point, with IP66, IP68, IP69, and IP69K ratings for protection against dust, high-pressure water jets, and even high-temperature high-pressure water.
Oppo has also added several AI-based camera tools. These include simultaneous front-and-rear recording, a function that straightens tilted 4K video by up to five degrees, and retro-style filters.
Pricing and availability
The Reno 16 is available in Pop White, Twilight Violet, and Dream Purple. The Reno 16 Pro comes in Pop White and Starlight Black.
Both phones are now on sale in Europe, Malaysia, and Thailand. Pricing listed by GizmoChina and cited by KompasTekno puts the Reno 16 Pro 5G 12/512 GB at 26,999 baht, the Reno 16 5G 8/256 GB at 19,999 baht, and the Reno 16 5G 12/256 GB at 22,999 baht.
For Indonesia, Oppo has already confirmed that the Reno 16 series will arrive in early July. That makes the global version worth watching closely, especially because its specifications are not identical to the China models.
