Samsung has already started testing One UI 9 for the Galaxy A24 4G, even though the phone only recently received the stable One UI 8.5 update based on Android 16. The move suggests that the midrange model has entered the next software phase earlier than many users expected.
The development is notable because the Galaxy A24 4G is far from Samsung’s newest flagship. Even so, traces found on Samsung’s servers show that the company is already preparing Android 17 support for the device.
Early test build spotted on Samsung’s servers
The clearest sign so far is the appearance of firmware A245FXXUCGZF4 for the Galaxy A24 4G. That build indicates internal validation work is underway, although it does not confirm when any beta program or stable release will reach users.
At this stage, Samsung has not announced a schedule for One UI 9 on the Galaxy A24 4G. There is also no official word on when the beta program will widen beyond the newest premium models.
Beta access remains limited for now
The current context matters because only the Galaxy S26 series has received One UI 9 beta access so far. That means testing for the Galaxy A24 4G is still in an early phase and should not be read as a sign of a near-term public rollout.
Samsung is also said to be working on One UI 9 for a number of other Galaxy devices. The direction suggests that the new interface is not being reserved only for flagships, but is gradually being prepared for more affordable models as well.
For Galaxy A24 4G owners, the news is still encouraging. It shows that the device remains on an active software update path, especially after Samsung rolled out the stable One UI 8.5 update for the model just days ago.

Those devices are rumored to debut on July 22 at an event in London. That puts the Galaxy A24 4G in a very different position within Samsung’s update roadmap, since it is clearly not among the launch devices for the new interface.
Even so, the test build suggests Samsung is already laying the groundwork for the Galaxy A24 4G. For a midrange phone, that is a reassuring sign that software support is still moving forward.
What remains unknown is the One UI 9 feature set for the Galaxy A24 4G. So far, only the Android 17 base, the firmware number, and the presence of internal testing have been identified.
The next key questions are whether Samsung will extend the One UI 9 beta to more devices beyond the Galaxy S26 line, and when the Galaxy A24 4G will move from internal testing to a more visible release stage.
