Red Magic is preparing a gaming tablet that aims well beyond casual mobile play. The Gaming Tablet 5 Pro pairs a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset with a 9-inch OLED display running at 185Hz, a combination that places it among the most aggressive Android tablets announced so far.
The device is scheduled for a global launch on 30 June 2026 at 15:00 local time, with two color options already confirmed: black and silver. Red Magic is keeping its familiar futuristic design language intact, including the brand’s sharp lines and semi-transparent rear styling.
Performance Tuned For Heavy Use
At the center of the tablet sits the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, the same flagship chipset used in the Red Magic 11S Pro smartphone. The chip is said to reach CPU speeds of up to 4.32 GHz, giving the tablet a performance profile that goes far beyond ordinary media consumption.
Geekbench leaks point to a single-core score of 2,654 and a multi-core score of 8,037. Those figures suggest a level of speed that can compete with many older ultrabooks, which is why the tablet is being framed as more than just a gaming device.
Red Magic appears to be targeting users who need portable power for multitasking, streaming, and demanding emulation workloads. Games and apps such as PPSSPP, Dolphin, and AetherSX2 are part of the use case the company seems to be chasing.
Display Hardware Built To Stand Out
The display is one of the device’s most striking features. Red Magic has equipped the Gaming Tablet 5 Pro with a 9-inch OLED panel at 2400 x 1504 pixels, or roughly 2.4K resolution.
A 185Hz refresh rate gives it a strong edge in motion smoothness, touch response, and visual fluidity. For fast-paced titles such as FPS and racing games, that kind of panel can make the experience feel noticeably more responsive.

The tablet also supports 80W fast charging, with a claimed 0% to 100% charge time of under 60 minutes. That makes it easier to return to play after short breaks instead of waiting through a long recharge.
Storage, Cameras, And Connectivity Remain Practical
Red Magic is expected to offer several memory and storage combinations, including 12GB/256GB, 16GB/512GB, 16GB/1TB, and a top-end 24GB/1TB model. The 24GB version would place the tablet among the most memory-rich Android devices available.
That amount of RAM gives the device room to keep many apps open at once without frequent reloading. For users who switch between games, streaming apps, and productivity tools, it adds an important layer of flexibility.
The camera setup remains modest, which fits the tablet’s gaming-first approach. Leaks point to a 13 MP front camera for video calls and live streaming, plus a 9 MP rear camera for documents or QR code scanning.
Connectivity options are also broad, with Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4, USB Type-C 3.2 Gen 2, and optional dual SIM support depending on the variant. Those features help the tablet stay useful outside gaming sessions as well.
