Tecno is challenging a familiar smartphone assumption with the Camon 50 Slim. The device combines an ultra-thin 6.39 mm body with a 5,600 mAh battery, a pairing that is uncommon even among larger handsets.
That contrast is the main reason the phone stands out. Tecno has already published most of the official specifications on its global website, but the company has not announced pricing or availability yet.
Thin design, premium touches
The 6.39 mm thickness places the Camon 50 Slim among the slimmest phones in its class. Tecno also uses a curved body to improve comfort in the hand and give the device a more premium feel.
On the rear, the company has fitted a camera module connected to a dedicated LED lighting system. It works with AI Mood Light, which uses 354 mini-LEDs to create effects for notifications, incoming calls, charging, and other interactions.
Tecno is offering five color options for the model: New Mondrian, Prism Black, Jungle Green, Van Gogh Blue, and Burgundy Red.
AMOLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate
The Camon 50 Slim features a 6.78-inch AMOLED display with a 1.5K resolution of 1224 x 2720 pixels. The panel is designed to deliver vivid colors and sharp detail for everyday use.
A 144Hz refresh rate adds another highlight. It should make scrolling feel smoother and improve responsiveness during gaming and multimedia use.
Helio G200 Ultimate and expandable storage
Under the hood, Tecno uses the MediaTek Helio G200 Ultimate chipset, paired with HiOS 16.2. The software setup suggests a focus on a light daily experience with Tecno’s familiar interface.
Memory options include 8GB RAM with 128GB storage and 8GB RAM with 256GB storage. Tecno also includes Extended RAM support, which can add up to 16GB of virtual RAM for multitasking.
For users who need more space, the phone includes a microSD slot with support for up to 2TB. That makes the device more flexible for photos, videos, and large files.
Cameras, battery, and premium extras
Tecno equips the phone with a Sony LYT-600 50MP main sensor sized at 1/1.56 inches. It is joined by a flicker sensor meant to help with lighting control, especially in environments with artificial light sources.
On the front, the Camon 50 Slim carries a 32MP selfie camera. Tecno also adds AI-based photography tools, including AI Image Editing, multiple portrait focal lengths, underwater photography mode, and other AI photo optimizations.
Despite the slim profile, the phone still carries a 5,600 mAh battery and supports 60W fast charging. Tecno says the battery is designed to maintain health and performance for up to five years of use.
The feature list continues with IP68 and IP69 ratings, military-grade durability, stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos, NFC, an infrared blaster, and microSD support up to 2TB. One notable limitation is that the phone only supports 4G LTE, which suggests Tecno is targeting markets where 5G is not yet the main priority.
