Vivo is preparing to take the X Fold6 beyond China, and the move immediately places the foldable flagship in a more competitive global spotlight. The device stands out not because it follows the usual foldable formula, but because it pairs premium hardware with unusually strong endurance for its category.

For users who want a large-screen foldable without giving up battery life or top-tier performance, the X Fold6 is shaping up as a serious contender. Vivo has not yet revealed which countries will receive the phone, but the global expansion alone is already drawing attention.

A foldable built around performance and endurance

The biggest headline feature is the Dimensity 9500 Super Edition, a MediaTek chipset developed through a collaboration with Vivo over nearly two years. Vivo says the X Fold6 is the first foldable phone powered entirely by this platform.

According to Vivo, the chipset delivers a 111 percent boost in NPU performance while also improving AI power efficiency. That positioning makes the device especially appealing to users who expect a foldable to handle gaming, multitasking, and demanding productivity tasks without hesitation.

Battery capacity that challenges foldable expectations

Battery life is often one of the weakest points in foldable phones, but Vivo is pushing hard in the opposite direction. The X Fold6 uses a semi-solid-state 7,000mAh battery, a capacity that is unusually large for this class of device.

The phone also supports 80W fast charging, which helps reduce downtime during long gaming sessions or heavy daily use. For buyers who are wary of carrying a charger or power bank everywhere, that combination could be one of the phone’s strongest selling points.

Main Feature Specification Why It Matters
Processor Dimensity 9500 Super Edition First foldable to use the platform
Battery 7,000mAh semi-solid-state Unusually large capacity for a foldable
Charging 80W fast charging Helps minimize charging interruptions
Main Display 8.02-inch Samsung M14 OLED Large screen with high brightness
Peak Brightness Up to 5,000 nits Better visibility in bright outdoor conditions

Display and multitasking are built for heavy use

When unfolded, the X Fold6 offers an 8.02-inch main display built with Samsung M14 OLED material. Vivo says the panel can reach a peak brightness of up to 5,000 nits, which should help with visibility in direct light.

The large panel also gives the phone an advantage for gaming and multitasking. With OriginOS 6 Fold and its Atom Workspace feature, users can run up to four apps on one screen at the same time.

That setup can be useful for switching between a game, a strategy guide, messaging, and another app without constantly closing windows. In a foldable form factor, that flexibility is part of the appeal, and Vivo is clearly leaning into it.

Camera hardware adds another premium layer

The X Fold6 is not only about power and endurance. Vivo has also equipped it with a 200MP Zeiss main camera, an APO telephoto lens, a 50MP ultrawide lens, and the company’s internal V3+ imaging chip.

For users who want more reach, the phone also supports the ZEISS G2 telephoto converter accessory for shots equivalent to 200mm. That addition makes the device more attractive to buyers who want a foldable that can handle both entertainment and serious photography.

Vivo has not announced the global price yet, and it has also not disclosed a detailed launch schedule. Even so, the combination of a large battery, high-end display, and flagship imaging hardware gives the X Fold6 a clear identity in the premium foldable market.
