Oppo is taking a different route with the India launch of the Reno 16, and the most important change sits inside the phone. Instead of using the same MediaTek chip found in the China model, the India version will run on Snapdragon 7 Gen 4.

Oppo has confirmed that the India-bound Reno 16 uses Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 octa-core chipset. The chip is built on a 4nm process and reaches a peak clock speed of 2.8GHz.
The company says the processor delivers up to 27 percent higher CPU performance, while graphics rendering improves by 30 percent. Oppo also claims AI capability gains of 65 percent.
