iPhone 18 Pro Leak Points to a Much Larger Cooler and a Smaller Dynamic Island

Fresh iPhone 18 Pro leaks suggest Apple is preparing two of its most noticeable changes yet: a much larger vapour chamber and a smaller Dynamic Island. If accurate, the update would affect both thermal performance and the look of the display.

The most striking detail is the expanded internal cooling system. A CT scan shared online shows a vapour chamber that appears dramatically larger than before, hinting that Apple is giving the Pro model a far more serious thermal setup.

That change has been linked to the rumored Apple A20 Pro 2nm chip, which would likely demand better heat management under heavy workloads. For users, that could mean a device that stays cooler during demanding tasks and sustained performance use.

Face ID components appear to have moved

The same leak also points to a redesigned front sensor layout. The images show the camera, Face ID components, and IR sensor arranged differently, which suggests Apple is revisiting the TrueDepth camera system.

In the CT scan, the infrared sensor appears to have been shifted to the side of the device instead of sitting in the same cluster as the front-facing camera and Face ID hardware. That repositioning could reduce the width of the display cutout.

As a result, the Dynamic Island on the iPhone 18 Pro may become noticeably smaller. That would give the screen a cleaner appearance and leave more usable display space at the top of the panel.

Leaked Change What It Suggests Possible Impact
Much larger vapour chamber Stronger internal cooling design Better thermal control during heavy use
Reworked Face ID and IR sensor placement Redesigned TrueDepth camera system Smaller Dynamic Island and more usable screen area

More than one leak now points to the same direction

The new CT scan is not the only visual hint to surface. A full compressed internal X-ray image of the iPhone 18 Pro was also shared by X user @pipfix, adding more weight to the claimed layout changes.

That image is said to support the same internal arrangement, reinforcing the idea that Apple is adjusting both the front sensor area and the thermal architecture of the device. Earlier information has also indicated that the iPhone 18 Pro could arrive with a smaller Dynamic Island.

The timing of these leaks matters because more design details are starting to appear as the launch window gets closer. Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman has said the iPhone 18 Pro series could launch on 9 September 2026.

There is still no official confirmation from Apple, and the leak does not include measurements, materials, or technical specifications for the new cooling system. Even so, the visual evidence circulating now suggests the iPhone 18 Pro may focus heavily on both heat control and a cleaner front display.
