Lenovo has added a new twist to its tablet lineup with the launch of the Lenovo Tab Plus Gen 2 in India. The device stands out by combining a MediaTek Dimensity 7400 chipset, a 12.1-inch 2.5K display, and nine JBL speakers tuned with Dolby Atmos.
That mix places the tablet squarely in the entertainment-first segment, while also giving it the kind of hardware that can handle productivity tasks. Lenovo has paired the device with long battery life, large storage options, and accessory support to widen its appeal beyond casual media use.
Display tuned for long viewing sessions
The Lenovo Tab Plus Gen 2 uses a 12.1-inch IGZO LCD panel with a 2.5K resolution. It also supports a 120Hz refresh rate and reaches up to 800 nits of brightness.
Those numbers make the tablet suitable for watching video, gaming, and reading in different lighting conditions. Lenovo appears to be targeting users who want a large screen that still feels smooth and comfortable indoors or in brighter spaces.
Audio is the main selling point
The most distinctive part of the tablet is its sound system. Lenovo equips it with nine JBL speakers supported by Dolby Atmos.
That setup is designed to deliver clearer and more powerful audio for films, music, and video content. In the mid-premium tablet category, that kind of audio configuration gives the Tab Plus Gen 2 a clear identity.
Dimensity 7400, up to 256GB storage
Inside, the tablet runs on the MediaTek Dimensity 7400 platform. Lenovo pairs it with up to 8GB of LPDDR5 RAM and up to 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage.
Users who need more room can expand storage by up to 2TB through a microSD card. That flexibility should help with large apps, work files, and media libraries.
Software support adds long-term value
The Lenovo Tab Plus Gen 2 ships with Android 16. Lenovo says the tablet will receive operating system updates through Android 18, along with four years of security updates until 2030.
That level of support matters for buyers who plan to keep a tablet for several years. In the mid-premium segment, longer software support can be just as important as hardware specifications.
Camera, stand, and battery round out the package
For video calls and selfies, the tablet includes an 8-megapixel front camera. On the back, it carries a 13-megapixel camera with autofocus.
Lenovo also adds a 360-degree rotating stand, allowing the tablet to be used in standing, theater, or hanging modes. That gives the device more flexibility when it is placed on a desk, used for watching content, or kept upright during meetings.
A 10,200mAh battery powers the tablet, and Lenovo says it supports 45W fast charging. The company claims the battery can play YouTube video for up to 15 hours on a single charge.
