Xiaomi is deepening its REDMI ecosystem in Indonesia with four new devices aimed at everyday use by younger users. The lineup includes the REDMI Pad 2 9.7, REDMI Buds 8, REDMI Watch 6, and REDMI Headphone Neo.
The strategy is built around one idea: making multiple devices feel like one connected system. For students, creators, workers, and entertainment-focused users, that integration matters more than having more gadgets.
Connected use across devices
Xiaomi is relying on Xiaomi HyperOS to reduce the friction that often appears when people switch between a phone, tablet, smartwatch, and audio device. The company says users can move files and photos from a smartphone to a tablet, copy text across devices, answer calls from a tablet, and control smart devices through a smartwatch.
That approach reflects a common problem in daily digital routines. Many users carry several devices, but the experience can still feel disconnected when each one works in isolation.
1. REDMI Pad 2 9.7 for mobility and entertainment
The REDMI Pad 2 9.7 is positioned as a compact tablet for users who need portability without giving up a larger screen. Xiaomi offers it in Wi-Fi and 4G variants, giving buyers a choice based on how often they work or study away from home.
The tablet uses the Snapdragon 6s 4G Gen 2 chipset, supports storage expansion up to 2 TB, and carries a 7,600 mAh battery. Its 9.7-inch 2K display is meant for online learning, video editing, and watching content more comfortably than on a phone.
2. REDMI Buds 8 for noisy environments
REDMI Buds 8 is designed for users who need focus during calls, music playback, or virtual meetings. The true wireless earbuds offer Active Noise Cancellation of up to 50 dB and can be tuned through the Xiaomi Earbuds app.
Xiaomi says the earbuds can last up to 44 hours together with the charging case. That endurance makes them suitable for long commutes, extended work sessions, and regular daily use.
3. REDMI Watch 6 for health and activity tracking
REDMI Watch 6 is aimed at users who want a smartwatch that blends daily convenience with fitness features. It comes with a 2.07-inch AMOLED display, a 60 Hz refresh rate, and brightness of up to 2,000 nits for easier outdoor visibility.
The watch supports more than 150 sports modes and includes heart-rate monitoring, blood oxygen tracking, sleep tracking, and dual-band GNSS GPS. Xiaomi is presenting it as a companion for active users rather than only a notification display.
4. REDMI Headphone Neo for over-ear audio
REDMI Headphone Neo expands the REDMI audio range with Xiaomi’s first over-ear headphone in the line. It uses a 40 mm dynamic driver with a titanium diaphragm and supports ANC of up to 42 dB.
The headphone can be used wirelessly or with a cable. Xiaomi also says it supports Hi-Res Audio, while battery life can reach up to 72 hours in wireless mode with ANC turned off.
Pricing and availability
All four devices are already available through Xiaomi Indonesia’s official sales channels. The pricing shows how Xiaomi is trying to cover different budgets while keeping users inside the same ecosystem.
| Product | Price | Main Positioning |
|---|---|---|
| REDMI Pad 2 9.7 (4GB/64GB) | Rp2.399.000 | Compact tablet for mobility and entertainment |
| REDMI Pad 2 9.7 4G | Starting at Rp2.899.000 | Tablet with cellular connectivity |
| REDMI Buds 8 | Rp699.000 | Noise-canceling earbuds for daily use |
| REDMI Watch 6 | Rp1.999.000 | Fitness-focused smartwatch |
| REDMI Headphone Neo | Rp1.499.000 | Over-ear audio option with ANC |
With a tablet, earbuds, smartwatch, and over-ear headphone in the same family, Xiaomi is clearly pushing REDMI as more than a device lineup. The company wants the ecosystem itself to become useful enough for users to keep coming back to it in study, work, communication, and entertainment routines.
