Xiaomi has widened the appeal of the Redmi Pad 2 9.7 in Indonesia by adding a 4 GB/128 GB variant priced at Rp 3.099.000. The move gives buyers more storage at a level that still sits in the Rp 3 million range.
The bigger surprise is the pricing shift on the older model. The 4 GB/64 GB version, which previously sold for Rp 2.399.000, is now listed at Rp 2.899.000, narrowing the gap between the two variants to only Rp 200.000.
Two storage options, one very small price gap
With both versions now on sale, the Redmi Pad 2 9.7 lineup in Indonesia is simple enough to compare at a glance.
| Variant | RAM | Storage | Price |
|---|---|---|---|
| Redmi Pad 2 9.7 | 4 GB | 64 GB | Rp 2.899.000 |
| Redmi Pad 2 9.7 | 4 GB | 128 GB | Rp 3.099.000 |
The new 128 GB option is especially relevant for users who want more room for apps, documents, and media without moving to a more expensive tablet class. The 64 GB model still exists, but the price increase makes the newer option look more attractive than before.
A 9.7-inch tablet with features above its class
Even though Redmi positions the device as an entry-level tablet, the display specification stands out. The Redmi Pad 2 9.7 uses a 9.7-inch IPS LCD panel with 2K resolution, a 120 Hz refresh rate, up to 180 Hz touch sampling rate, and peak brightness of 600 nits.
That 120 Hz refresh rate is notable in this price range because many entry-level tablets are still limited to 60 Hz or 90 Hz. For daily use, the smoother scrolling and transitions can make the device feel more responsive during study, work, and entertainment.
Xiaomi also includes TÜV Rheinland Low Blue Light, Flicker Free, and Circadian Friendly certifications. These are intended to improve eye comfort during longer sessions.
Performance, battery life, and connectivity
Under the hood, the tablet runs on the Snapdragon 6s Gen 2 built on a 6 nm process. The chip uses an octa-core CPU clocked up to 2.9 GHz and is paired with LPDDR4X 4 GB RAM.
Storage uses UFS 2.2, and the capacity can be expanded with a microSD card of up to 2 TB. Xiaomi also equips the tablet with a 7,600 mAh battery and says it can last more than a day on a single charge.
The Redmi Pad 2 9.7 ships with Android 16 and HyperOS 3. It also supports Google AI features, including Circle to Search, which allows users to search for information by circling an object on the screen.
Other included features are AI Face Unlock, 4G LTE connectivity, Bluetooth 5.0, and a 3.5 mm audio jack. The presence of 4G makes the tablet more flexible for users who want mobile internet access without relying entirely on WiFi.
Design, cameras, and availability
The device measures 226.51 x 147.97 x 7.4 mm and weighs about 401 grams, keeping it relatively compact for a tablet with an almost 10-inch display. Xiaomi offers it in Graphite Gray and Silver.
For imaging, the rear camera uses an 8 MP sensor with an f/2.0 aperture and supports video recording up to Full HD 1080p at 30 fps. The front side carries a 5 MP camera with an f/2.2 aperture and the same Full HD recording support for selfies and video calls.
Xiaomi says the tablet is already available in Indonesia, and buyers who purchase it between 7-31 July 2026 can receive a free Redmi Buds 6 Play TWS as a promotion. With the 128 GB model now joining the lineup, the Redmi Pad 2 9.7 has become a more flexible option for shoppers looking for a 4G tablet with a 120 Hz display and a price that remains around Rp 3 million.
