A flatter camera housing leads the visual change
The Galaxy A18 render shared by Smartphone Checker together with leaker OnLeaks is said to be based on official CAD files that Samsung typically provides to accessory makers before launch. In the images, the phone still uses a vertical triple-camera setup.
The main difference is the camera housing itself, which now appears flatter and less raised from the rear panel. That small change makes the back of the device look cleaner and less visually busy.

There is no confirmation yet on whether the added thickness is tied to a larger battery. Even so, several reports say the Galaxy A18 is still expected to carry a battery of around 5,000 mAh.

Familiar screen, but the chipset story may shift
On the display side, the Galaxy A18 is said to keep a 6.7-inch Super AMOLED panel with a 90 Hz refresh rate. That points to Samsung staying close to a proven setup in the entry-level segment.
The more notable change may come from the processor lineup. Samsung is reportedly preparing the Galaxy A18 in both 4G and 5G versions, and neither version is said to use an Exynos chipset anymore.
ZDNet Korea reports that the Galaxy A18 5G will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon chip, while the 4G model will use MediaTek. Other reports further suggest the 5G variant may get the Snapdragon 6s Gen 3, with the 4G version relying on the MediaTek Helio G99.

Camera hardware may stay close to the Galaxy A17
