Motorola Edge 70 Max Breaks the Brand Battery Record With 7,100mAh

Motorola is preparing to raise the bar on battery life with the Edge 70 Max, a model that will carry a 7,100mAh battery. That makes it the largest battery ever fitted to a Motorola smartphone so far.

The new battery figure is only part of the appeal. Motorola is also pairing the device with fast charging, premium hardware, and a design that pushes it closer to the brand’s higher-end lineup.

Fast charging and magnetic wireless support

According to the updated Flipkart microsite, the Edge 70 Max will support 90W TurboPower charging. The company is also preparing 25W magnetic wireless charging, which Motorola says is the fastest in its class.

The same promotional material points to built-in magnetic support for accessories. That suggests the phone is being positioned not just as a long-lasting device, but also as part of a more flexible accessory ecosystem.

A new record for Motorola

The 7,100mAh capacity puts the Edge 70 Max ahead of the Motorola Edge 70 Fusion and the Moto G06 Power, both of which previously topped the brand’s battery chart at 7,000mAh. The difference is only 100mAh, but it is enough to give the new model the record.

Flipkart’s listing also claims up to 58 hours of use on a single charge. For users who prioritize endurance above all else, that figure will likely be one of the phone’s main selling points.

Premium display and hardware details

Motorola has already confirmed several other specifications for the Edge 70 Max. The phone will feature a Quad HD+ LTPO display with a 144Hz refresh rate, a peak brightness of 7,000 nits, and Gorilla Glass 7i protection.

Inside, the device is set to run on Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 and come with up to 12GB of LPDDR5x RAM. Its design also points to a premium segment, with a glass back and an aluminum frame.

Leaked information also points to a 50-megapixel Sony LYT-710 main camera. Color options are expected to include Onyx Black, Sage Green, and Glacier Blue.

Pricing is rumored to land around Rs 50,000 in India, placing the Edge 70 Max between the Edge 70 Pro+ and Signature models. If that estimate proves accurate, the phone could appeal to buyers who want top-tier battery life without moving into a more expensive flagship bracket.

The India launch is scheduled for 15 July, and that date will reveal how far Motorola can push the combination of battery capacity, charging speed, and premium design in a single device.
