Samsung Electronics Indonesia has added a Galaxy A27 variant with 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal storage, a move aimed at keeping the device within reach as smartphone prices continue to rise.
The company said many buyers are now more selective and are looking beyond raw specifications. For this segment, long-term usefulness and overall value matter just as much as hardware numbers.
A lighter option for everyday use
Samsung sees the 6 GB/128 GB configuration as a practical choice for users who mainly rely on a phone for social media, communication, streaming, and light photography. For those tasks, the company says the experience remains solid without requiring a higher-priced model.
| Galaxy A27 Variant | RAM | Storage | Intended User |
|---|---|---|---|
| Galaxy A27 | 6 GB | 128 GB | Everyday users seeking a more affordable option |
| Higher-capacity Galaxy A27 variant | Larger RAM | Not specified | Users who need multitasking or gaming performance |
MX Product Marketing Senior Manager Samsung Electronics Indonesia, Annisa Maulina, said the 6 GB model is not meant to replace versions with more memory. Instead, it widens the choice so buyers can match the phone to their needs and budget.
“If 6/128 GB is enough for their needs, consumers can get a more affordable option. That is the goal,” Annisa said during a media hands on in Jakarta on Monday, 13 July 2026.
Samsung broadens its Galaxy A27 reach
For users who want stronger performance for multitasking or gaming, Samsung still provides a Galaxy A27 variant with larger RAM. This approach allows the lineup to serve more than one type of buyer, from first-time smartphone users to those upgrading from an older device.
The company also continues to position the Galaxy A series around long-term use, with software and security update support designed to keep the devices relevant for longer.
At the same time, Samsung says not every feature from its flagship lineup can be carried over to the Galaxy A series. Features are adjusted to fit the device hardware so performance stays balanced.
Samsung has also seen a clear upgrade pattern among Galaxy A users. Many start with the Galaxy A2 series, then move to Galaxy A3 or Galaxy A5 models when they want higher specifications.
According to Annisa, users upgrading from previous Samsung devices account for around 40-50% of the Galaxy A series customer base. The remaining share includes buyers who switch from other brands.
By adding the Galaxy A27 6 GB RAM variant, Samsung is targeting a market that has become more price-sensitive while still asking for dependable performance and a device that can last.
