Apple has opened the iOS 27 Public Beta with changes that focus on two things many iPhone users notice immediately: the look of the interface and how fast everyday tasks feel. The update arrives after its early reveal at WWDC 2026 on June 8 and is designed to bring a smoother experience without cutting off older supported devices.
One of the most visible additions is a new transparency control for Liquid Glass. Users can now adjust how clear the interface elements appear, giving the iPhone a more personal look and letting the design lean either more subtle or more pronounced.
Visual Tweaks, Faster Everyday Use
The design update extends to app icons as well, which now use a refined refraction layer. Apple says this makes the visuals appear sharper and more alive, reinforcing the new direction of iOS 27’s interface language.
Performance is the other major focus. Apple claims app launch speed has improved by up to 30 percent, while AirDrop is now 80 percent faster, a change that should be especially noticeable when moving large files such as photos and videos.
Search, Mail, and Photos Get Smarter

Apple Intelligence is also being strengthened with a new architecture that Apple says improves Siri while protecting user privacy. The company continues to position artificial intelligence and data security as priorities that must move together.
