Huawei FreeClip 2 S is drawing attention not only for its open-ear design, but also for the way its charging case changes the first impression completely. The brand has positioned the device as something that feels closer to a fashion accessory than a conventional TWS product.
At Astana at Bamboo Hills in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, on Tuesday, 14/7/2026, Huawei Senior Product Expert Farangis Sultonzoda said the FreeClip 2 S weighs 5.1 grams per earbud. She also noted that opening the case already feels elegant because of its pearl-like appearance.
Luminous Charging Case Becomes the Main Draw
The biggest design statement comes from the Luminous Charging Case, which Huawei says goes through 100 processing stages. The interior is also designed to be 20% wider, reinforcing the premium impression with a jewelry-box-like presentation.
That approach makes the FreeClip 2 S stand out before the earbuds are even removed. Huawei appears to be focusing as much on how users carry and open the device as on the earbuds themselves.
Light Build, Cleaner Colors, and Daily Protection
Beyond the case, the FreeClip 2 S uses a glowy and airy bridge, with two color options: Space Silver and Deepsea Blue. The overall look stays refined without becoming overly flashy.
On the audio side, Huawei has added a dual-diaphragm driver that is said to make volume 100% stronger. The earbuds also carry IP57 water resistance, which adds practical value for everyday use.

Huawei Also Prepares a Different FreeClip 2 Version
Huawei is also offering a standard FreeClip 2 with a box-shaped case. This model uses a C-bridge that is said to be 25% softer and is made from skin-friendly silicone and shape-memory alloy.
Each earbud on the FreeClip 2 also weighs 5.1 grams, while the charging case is 14% lighter. Available colors include Berry Purple, Blue, Rose Gold, White, and Black.
Huawei announced a global price of €229 for the FreeClip 2, or around Rp 4.7 million. With its unusual design and broader color selection, the FreeClip 2 line is clearly aimed at users looking for earbuds that also work as a style statement.
