Huawei has taken the Pura 90s Pro and Pura 90s Pro Max to international markets with a clear message: this launch is about imaging power. The new flagship pair leans heavily on a refreshed camera system, long-range zoom, and LOFIC technology to stand out in a crowded premium segment.
The most attention-grabbing model is the Pura 90s Pro Max. Huawei equips it with what is described as the industry’s first 200MP RYYB telephoto camera, paired with a 1/1.28-inch sensor, an f/2.6 aperture, 4x optical zoom, macro photography support, and telephoto video capture up to 20x with CIPA 7.0 stabilization.
Display and design
The Pura 90s Pro Max uses a flat 6.9-inch LTPO OLED display with a resolution of 1,308 x 2,880 pixels. The Pura 90s Pro comes with a smaller 6.6-inch LTPO panel at 1,256 x 2,760 pixels, making it the more compact option for one-handed use.
Both phones use an anti-reflective coating that Huawei says cuts reflections by up to 70 percent. Screen protection is handled by Kunlun Glass, with the Pro model using the second-generation version.
Camera hardware sets the tone
| Model | Main Camera | Telephoto | Ultra-Wide |
|---|---|---|---|
| Pura 90s Pro Max | 50MP 1/1.28-inch LOFIC RYYB, f/1.4-f/4.0, OIS | 200MP RYYB, 1/1.28-inch, f/2.6, 4x optical zoom | 40MP |
| Pura 90s Pro | 50MP main camera without LOFIC | 50MP 4x telephoto | 12.5MP |
The Pro Max carries a 50MP 1/1.28-inch LOFIC RYYB main sensor with a 10-step variable aperture ranging from f/1.4 to f/4.0 and OIS. The Pro still gets a 50MP main camera, but without LOFIC, and it is paired with a 12.5MP ultra-wide camera and a 50MP 4x telephoto lens.
Performance, battery, and connectivity
Both devices are powered by the Kirin 9030S. Huawei offers 12GB of RAM with 256GB or 512GB of storage, while software duties are handled by EMUI 16 based on AOSP 16.
Connectivity support is broad for a premium phone, including 5G, eSIM, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6.0, and Huawei’s NearLink. Battery capacity is listed at 6,000mAh for both models, although the European versions drop to 5,500mAh because of regulatory requirements.
Charging speeds are another clear divider. The Pura 90s Pro Max supports 100W wired charging and 80W wireless charging, while the Pura 90s Pro offers 66W wired charging and 50W wireless charging.
Pricing and rollout
According to information shared by Gizmochina, the rollout is being staged across multiple markets. In Malaysia, the Pura 90s Pro is priced at MYR 3,700 for the 12/256GB version and MYR 4,000 for the 12/512GB version, while the Pura 90s Pro Max is listed at MYR 4,900 for the 12/512GB variant.
In Europe, the starting price for the Pura 90s Pro is €900 for 12/256GB and rises to €1,050 for 12/512GB. The Pura 90s Pro Max starts at €1,150 for 12/256GB and reaches €1,300 for 12/512GB.
Huawei is also preparing additional launches for Singapore and the Middle East, with an event scheduled for July 16. With its aggressive camera package and full flagship specifications, the Pura 90s Pro Max is the model drawing the most attention in this global expansion.
