Xiaomi has moved early into the Android 17 cycle, with a stable software rollout already reaching the Xiaomi 17 series. That makes the company one of the first Android brands to deliver the newest Google platform in a stable release rather than a beta program.
The update is not only about the new operating system. It also includes the June 2026 security patch, which means Xiaomi is pairing the platform upgrade with the latest security fixes at the same time.
Stable rollout begins on selected Xiaomi 17 models
According to XimiTime, Xiaomi has started distributing HyperOS 3 based on Android 17 to the Xiaomi 17 lineup. The rollout is limited for now to the standard Xiaomi 17 and the Xiaomi 17 Ultra.

For the Xiaomi 17 Ultra, the European build carries the code OS3.0.332.0.XPAEUXM, while the global version uses OS3.0.332.0.XPAMIXM. The package size is reported at about 10 GB.
The standard Xiaomi 17 is also receiving different regional builds, with OS3.0.331.0.XPCEUXM for Europe and OS3.0.332.0.XPCMIXM for the global market. Its update package is smaller, at about 8 GB.
HyperOS 3, not HyperOS 4
Even though the update is based on Android 17, Xiaomi is not calling it HyperOS 4. Instead, the company is delivering HyperOS 3 on top of Android 17 for these devices.
The package is said to bring better system stability, bug fixes, and the June 2026 security patch. It also includes refreshed system app icons, but some headline Android 17 features are still missing.
Those missing features reportedly include app bubbles, screen recording reactions, and separate volume controls for Gemini. For the Xiaomi 15T Pro, an Android 17-based HyperOS 3 update is also said to be rolling out through the Mi Pilot channel, which is open only to a limited group of participants.
Xiaomi’s timing stands out because other Android brands are still moving through beta channels. Samsung, for example, is only offering One UI 9 beta for the Galaxy S26 series, giving Xiaomi an early chance to secure stable Android 17 momentum.
That makes the Xiaomi 17 series one of the most visible early examples of Android 17 in stable form. For users, the immediate takeaway is a large update package, fresh security protection, and a software release that arrives ahead of much of the Android competition.
