OnePlus May Go Beyond 10,000mAh as Oppo Reportedly Plans a Major Battery Leap

Author: Qoo Media

OnePlus may be preparing a mid-range phone with a battery exceeding 10,000mAh, a capacity that would set a new high point for the brand. Oppo is also reportedly working on an A Series handset with a 10,000mAh single-cell battery.

The claims remain unconfirmed by both companies. They were shared by tipster Digital Chat Station on Weibo and reported by Gadgets360, so the specifications should be treated as early information.

A Possible New OnePlus Battery Record

The reported OnePlus device is described as a mid-range phone carrying Pro branding and the model number SM8845. It is said to be in a pre-research phase and could arrive next year.

Its battery may be larger than 10,000mAh, according to the tipster. If that happens, it would exceed the current battery-capacity record within OnePlus phones.

That record is currently held by the OnePlus Nord 6, which has a 9,000mAh battery. The model supports 80W wired fast charging.

The OnePlus Nord 6 launched in India on April 7 with a starting price of Rs. 38,999. That price applies to the version with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage.

Oppo A Series Could Reach 10,000mAh First

Oppo is reportedly planning an unnamed A Series phone with a 10,000mAh single-cell battery. The report does not specify when the device could be introduced.

A 10,000mAh model would move well beyond Oppo’s present A Series benchmark. The closest existing reference is the Oppo A6 Pro 5G, which carries a 7,000mAh battery.

The Oppo A6 Pro 5G recently launched in India from Rs. 21,999 for its 8GB RAM and 128GB storage configuration. It includes 80W SuperVOOC wired charging.

Model Battery Capacity Charging Support Starting Price in India
Oppo A6 Pro 5G 7,000mAh 80W SuperVOOC Rs. 21,999
OnePlus Nord 6 9,000mAh 80W wired fast charging Rs. 38,999

Charging Details Are Still Unknown

Neither report explains whether the upcoming Oppo and OnePlus devices would retain the 80W charging approach used by the listed models. There is also no information on charging time for batteries at or above 10,000mAh.

The reported capacity would represent a significant step above the current Oppo A6 Pro 5G and OnePlus Nord 6. However, there are no confirmed details on the final hardware, naming, or availability of either rumored phone.

For now, the reports point to a possible shift toward much larger batteries in future Oppo and OnePlus handsets. Official announcements will be needed to establish whether the 10,000mAh claims and the suggested release timing are accurate.
