A Xiaomi handset believed to be the global Redmi Note 17 Pro 5G has appeared in an import-export database, but its battery may be smaller than the Chinese model’s. The alleged global version is tipped to use an 8,340mAh battery, versus 9,000mAh for the China variant.
The possible reduction stands out because battery capacity is one of the headline specifications of the Chinese Redmi Note 17 Pro. Xiaomi has not announced a global product name, launch schedule, or final specifications for the device.
Model Number Offers the Main Clue
The NBD database lists a Xiaomi device with the model number 2607DRA18G. That identifier closely resembles 2607DRA18C, the model number used by the Redmi Note 17 Pro 5G sold in China.
Gadgets360 noted that the NBD entry does not state the handset’s commercial name. Its connection to the global Redmi Note 17 Pro 5G is therefore based on the similarity between the two model codes.
| Device | Model Number | Recorded Detail |
|---|---|---|
| Redmi Note 17 Pro 5G China | 2607DRA18C | 9,000mAh battery |
| Suspected global Redmi Note 17 Pro 5G | 2607DRA18G | Shipments to Pakistan and Vietnam |
| Suspected Poco device | 2607DPC18G | Previously appeared at EEC and Indonesia’s TKDN |
NBD contains four shipping records for the 2607DRA18G device. The records are dated May 16 and May 25, with Pakistan and Vietnam listed as destinations.
Those entries suggest that units may already be moving beyond China. They do not, however, confirm that a retail launch is imminent in either market.
Battery and Memory Could Vary by Market
Leaker Kacper Skrzypek, posting through the @kacskrz account, said the global Redmi Note 17 Pro could carry an 8,340mAh battery. The India variant is said to retain the 9,000mAh capacity used by the Chinese model.
This would indicate that Xiaomi may use different hardware configurations across markets. The company can still alter the final configuration before an international announcement.
The NBD listing also identifies two memory configurations for model 2607DRA18G. They are 4GB of RAM with 64GB of storage, and 6GB of RAM with 128GB of storage.
These options may indicate an entry-level positioning for at least some global markets. The database does not reveal whether additional memory variants will be offered by region.
China Model Provides an Early Reference
Redmi introduced the Redmi Note 17 Pro in China earlier this month alongside the regular Redmi Note 17. The phone uses the Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 chipset and runs Xiaomi HyperOS 3 based on Android 16.
Its other listed features include a 6.83-inch 1.5K AMOLED display and 67W wired charging. It remains unclear whether the global handset will retain all of those specifications.
A Separate Poco Candidate Is Also in View
A second Xiaomi model, 2607DPC18G, has also been detected in the same database. It had previously appeared in EEC certification records and on Indonesia’s TKDN platform.
The final commercial name is unknown, though the model-code pattern has led to speculation that it could be sold under the Poco brand. A related Poco handset was previously expected to be called Poco M8 Plus, but HyperOS code later identified it as Poco M8 Power.
Both model numbers point to a broader Redmi and Poco expansion beyond China. Official Xiaomi announcements will be needed to confirm the products, their specifications, and their target markets.
