Lenovo is reportedly preparing a more portable gaming tablet with a major connectivity upgrade. The leaked Legion Y700 Infinite is said to combine an 8-inch OLED display, 5G support, and a 310g body.
That weight would make it about 50g lighter than the 360g Legion Y700 Gen 5. The smaller format may appeal to players who want a device that is easier to hold during long gaming sessions and practical to use away from Wi-Fi.
A Compact Alternative in the Gaming Tablet Market
The Legion Y700 Infinite is expected to take a different approach from larger gaming tablets such as the Red Magic Gaming Tablet 5 Pro and Red Magic Astra 2. Those competing models are described as having 10.9-inch AMOLED displays, Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chips, active cooling fans, and 5G connectivity.
Lenovo’s reported design instead prioritizes an 8-inch screen and lower weight. This could give the device a distinct position for users who value portability and a more manageable grip over a larger display.
The front camera is said to sit in a centered punch-hole cutout. A customizable RGB lighting element is also reportedly planned for the rear of the tablet.
5G Support Could Expand Its Everyday Use
The most significant change may be the addition of 5G, which would be a first for the Y700 series according to the leak. The device is said to support 5G including the N79 band, with dual-SIM standby through one physical SIM and one eSIM.
A multi-antenna system is reportedly being included to help maintain signal strength across different holding positions. If accurate, this could make the tablet more useful for cloud gaming, video streaming, video calls, and remote work when Wi-Fi is unavailable.
