Asus has expanded its portable work accessory lineup with the Adol HC112, a USB-C docking station designed to consolidate display, data, network and charging connections. Its central proposition is the ability to support up to three displays while continuing to deliver up to 100W of power to a connected laptop.
The compact dock is aimed at users who would otherwise need separate adapters for external monitors, wired networking, memory cards and peripherals. It combines 11 ports in an aluminium-alloy body measuring 116 x 48 x 15 mm and weighing 81 grams.
Display support depends on the host device
The Adol HC112 includes HDMI and DisplayPort 1.4 outputs for mirrored or extended display configurations. Although it can support up to three simultaneous screens, the final setup depends on the USB-C capabilities and system support of the connected device.
This requirement is significant because the physical presence of a USB-C connector does not confirm support for video output, data transmission and charging. A host device needs a full-function USB-C port to use the dock’s display and power features as intended.
| Function | Connection | Maximum capability |
|---|---|---|
| Multi-display | HDMI and DisplayPort 1.4 | Up to 3 simultaneous displays |
| DisplayPort output | DisplayPort 1.4 | Up to 8K at 30Hz |
| HDMI output | HDMI | Up to 4K at 120Hz |
| High refresh-rate output | Display output | Up to 1080p at 240Hz |
DisplayPort 1.4 supports output up to 8K at 30Hz, while HDMI can reach 4K at 120Hz. The dock also supports up to 1080p at 240Hz for displays requiring a higher refresh rate.
Data, network and card access in one device
For peripherals and storage, Asus includes three USB-A 3.2 ports and one USB-C 3.2 port. All four data ports offer transfer speeds of up to 10Gbps with compatible devices.
The dock also has Gigabit Ethernet for wired network access. A 3.5 mm audio port is available for headphones or speakers, reducing the need for another separate audio adapter.
SD and microSD card readers are included and can be used at the same time. This arrangement can be useful for users moving files between two card formats without swapping them one after the other.
100W power passthrough
A dedicated USB-C power input supports 100W Power Delivery through the PD 3.0 protocol. Users can connect a power adapter to the dock and pass power through to the laptop while displays and other accessories remain attached.
The Asus Adol HC112 operates on a plug-and-play basis without additional drivers. It is compatible with Windows, macOS, Linux, Android and iPadOS, subject to the host device meeting the full-function USB-C requirement.
According to Gizmochina, the dock is priced at 329 yuan, with a launch promotional price of 299 yuan. Asus also equips it with a braided USB-C cable and a metal frame intended to assist heat dissipation.
The combination of display output, 10Gbps data connections, wired networking, card readers and laptop charging positions the USB-C docking station as an all-in-one accessory for compact work setups. Its usefulness, however, remains closely tied to the capabilities of the device connected to it.
