SanDisk’s 6-Gram USB-C Drive Offers Up to 256GB for Devices Leaving USB-A Behind

SanDisk has introduced the CZB, a compact USB-C flash drive designed for a growing number of laptops, phones, and tablets that no longer include traditional USB-A ports. The series offers capacities up to 256GB while weighing about 6 grams.

Its built-in USB-C connector is the central feature, allowing users to connect the drive directly to compatible devices without an additional adapter. That approach makes the CZB a straightforward option for carrying documents, photo libraries, and larger files in a small physical format.

A Small Drive Built for Everyday Carrying

The SanDisk CZB comes in a black casing with an integrated opening for a keyring or lanyard. It measures 1.94 x 0.81 x 0.46 inches, making it small enough to keep in a pocket, bag, or on a set of keys.

The design positions the device as a portable flash drive rather than a larger external storage product. Users can keep it close at hand for routine file transfers without having to carry a separate SSD-sized device.

SanDisk offers the CZB in 64GB, 128GB, and 256GB versions. Gizmochina reported that the series is available globally and in China.

64GBUS$24.99, currently US$19.99129.9 yuan
128GBUS$24.99199 yuan
256GBUS$53.99, currently US$42.99349 yuan

Transfer Speeds up to 250MB/s

The drive uses USB 3.2 Gen 1, a standard that supports bandwidth of up to 5Gbps. SanDisk advertises sequential read speeds of up to 250MB/s for the CZB series.

Those figures make the drive more suited to moving files than replacing an external SSD in demanding workloads. It can be used to transfer documents, back up photos, or move several large files between compatible devices.

SanDisk says the 256GB model can hold about 60,000 photos. Actual storage totals will vary according to the file sizes produced by the camera or device in use.

Computer Support and Optional File Management

The CZB can be used with Windows 10, Windows 11, and macOS Monterey or later. SanDisk also provides an optional application for file management and backups.

The application is intended for users who prefer not to organize files manually with drag-and-drop controls. The flash drive can still operate as regular storage without relying on that application.

All SanDisk CZB capacity options include a three-year limited warranty. The combination of a USB-C connection, up to 256GB of storage, and a lightweight body gives users a physical storage option for increasingly USB-C-focused devices.
