Xiaomi is preparing a large home appliance designed to address two indoor concerns at once: dry air and airborne pollutants. The Mijia Purifying Humidifier 3 Pro combines a high-output humidifier with an air purifier in a single unit.
Its most notable specification is a humidification rate of up to 2,000 mL per hour. Xiaomi says that output can raise humidity in a standard bedroom in seven minutes and in a larger living room in about 19 minutes.
Two Functions That Can Operate Separately
The appliance allows its air-purifying and humidifying functions to run independently. This means it can continue operating as an air purifier when room humidity has already reached an acceptable level.
For air treatment, Xiaomi uses a six-layer composite filter. The filtration system is intended to capture larger debris, PM1 and PM2.5 particles, formaldehyde, and common allergens.
| Specification | Rating | Purpose |
|---|---|---|
| Humidification rate | 2,000 mL/hour | Raises room humidity |
| Water tank capacity | 8 liters | Up to 16 hours in sleep mode |
| Particle CADR | 422 m³/hour | Airborne particle purification |
| Formaldehyde CADR | 247 m³/hour | Formaldehyde filtration |
Xiaomi lists a particle CADR of 422 m³ per hour and a formaldehyde CADR of 247 m³ per hour. Those figures position the device as more than a conventional humidifier for dry rooms.
Large Tank and Water Hygiene Measures
An 8-liter water tank supports the unit’s high humidification output. Xiaomi says the supply can last for up to 16 continuous hours when the device is used in sleep mode.
Water can be added through the top of the appliance, while the tank can also be fully removed. A built-in handle is included so users can refill the tank away from the unit.
Xiaomi has also designed the water system to reduce the chance of used water returning to the main tank. Its one-way spray circulation system is intended to limit bacterial growth and water discoloration.
The device further uses electrolytic water sterilization and a washable antibacterial filter. These measures address a common maintenance concern for humidifiers that repeatedly circulate water.
Displays Real-Time Indoor Readings
A dome-shaped LCD display on the top panel shows real-time temperature, humidity, dust concentration, PM1, and PM2.5 readings. The display has adaptive brightness to suit changing room conditions.
Users can set a target humidity level for automatic control. Remote operation, data tracking, and filter monitoring are available through the Mijia app, while XiaoAI provides voice command support.
Despite its larger body, the Mijia Purifying Humidifier 3 Pro is fitted with 360-degree caster wheels for moving it between rooms. Xiaomi also uses a brushless DC inverter motor and optimized airflow path, claiming a sleep-mode noise level of 28.1 dB(A).
According to Gizmochina, the product has appeared on Xiaomi Youpin at a crowdfunding price of 1,699 yuan. Crowdfunding sales are scheduled to begin on July 22.
